Lord Duckman here, with air-cooled VWs, motorcycles, go karts and more! All-around adventurer and MacGuyver kinda guy!
Content that you see here may seem clever, well-thought-out, properly-planned, or semi-educated, but it is all for ENTERTAINMENT VALUE ONLY. Like most videos you see on the internet, I am merely an actor, and a poor one at that, but my creativity reaches high, often seeming crazy.
But that's half the fun of it!
Thanks for watching!

Yep, they never get to me.... lol... after the response I got on this video, the problem wasn't me nor my ad.... the problem is entirely theirs! 😀 Thanks man!
If they don't like what I say so be it. Everyone has an opinion I listen to other people they should have the courtesy to do the same not try to shut people up that's is RUDE.
In Australia in 1971, I bought my first beetle from Wollongong students for $50. It was firing on 2 cylinders only. On the way home to Oak Flats, the clutch cable broke. And the wife towed me back. When Realising the height it had to be lifted to remove the engine, that was the first thing I did, cut out fhat back panel, and made it easily replaceable, also, cut 2 holes behind the back seat to easily get to the top 2 bolts holding the enngine in.! Why they made it like that, has foxed me ever since, and replacing the clutch cable was an absolute night-mare.! But stiil had many more VW,s over the years, the fact that they use the engine in home-build aircraft, was why I bought the first one originally.!
Yep... AGAIN! These cars are old so you kind of expect something to happen to them, it doesn't help either that all the replacement parts nowadays are made in China... BLAH!
That depends on where the fault lies. You may have a bad starter, a bad ignition switch, or even just a disconnected or loose wire somewhere.... this hot start relay will not rectify any of those problems. HOWEVER, this week I will be releasing another video of another car with exactly the same problem as you are experiencing and my diagnostics to get it running again, I don't think this one needs a hot start relay, but I may do it anyway. Watch for it! Maybe that will help you to find the problem!
Yeah, very unexpected! The convertible Beetle I was working on recently had a similar issue last winter. The brakes worked fine on there, though, but it would puke inside itself the same way, but it did leak out and was easy to find.
I was trying to replace the clutch cable in my 1967 beetle the clutch cable is unconnected from both ends will not come out of the tube what would be my problem
What up dude!? I get asked that a lot, and a lot of people have thrown guesses, but none of us are the ones that did the paintwork, none of us really know, I'm sorry!
I have seen Fords that had master seal leaking into brake booster and engine burn the fluid. Eventually it would rot the booster diaphragm, so both were bad.
@@drost582 Wild Bill just fixed exactly that problem on a Bus this week.... lol, when he pulled the booster from underneath the Bus, he turned it sideways and all the fluid dumped out of it all over himself Haha... what a mess
Excellent video Glenn :) also that box Volkswagen car with Brake booster thought leak from piston plunger seal gone at first or when traveling squirts fluid too ! I seen that happened plus on GM , Ford , Chrysler with Intake boost vavle on side round booster drum part blew out of person hit brakes pedal hard for stop ! Also on other Volkswagen car of owners son had be interesting hold the key ignition switch more 30 to minute or more when cold or hot starts up engine! Or key was dirty from element outside and teeth missing or burrs ! I seen that happen before !
OK script alone is fine. I think the idea of having Donald Trump doing the. Script. I think the reason it got pulled down. It's because of Donald Trump. That's what I think
LoL! That's exactly why, but why should that even be a reason? It could have been Michael Jordan, Jared from Subway, or Adolf Hitler, or Scott frickin' Baio... its just another face!
You should know that "Main Stream Media" doesn't like to promote President Trump in any way. They are doing all they can to and protect President Biden. Bottom Line they want to keep Biden in office. As of now President Biden announced he wont for running for a second term. The cats out of the bag and they cant hide his blunders any longer. The worst president we ever had
I should know lots of things, but I don't think the way crazy people do, regardless of how I may look on here. LoL! So nonsense such as this doesn't even make sense to me. No matter, Biden may have given up the ghost at this point. Nobody is sure yet.
Haha, it happens.... its cut now though! Mower #1 had trash in main jet, I haven't looked at the other mowers yet though... but I bet it's probably the same thing.
@@DuckmanCycles Well don't feel bad!! I went to go out and mow my yard Sunday and it would start and run but only on the choke! Spent a hour cleaning the card so I get Karm is a Beeioch!! LOL!!
That's how I was taught in the 70's to check master cylinder on all cars. We would push the pedal down then release it slightly and push again, if the pedal sank master cylinder was no good. I believe it enabled the fluid to bypass the piston.
That indeed seems to be the case, I would bet on a displaced seal... which under high pressure the seal gets forced into position, low pressure allows internal blowby, and in this case, leaked right out of the master and into the body cavity!
G'day, Lord Duckman. It's never boring working on vintage Volkswagen's. There's always something to test you. Q. When your installing a new master cylinder, do you bench bleed it. I've found on my 63 beetle by doing this It's eliminated the problems i was having bleeding. The latest stupid beetle with the starting problem. That starter wire can be a problem if installed wrong. You can't have any weight on the terminal to pull it off. Anyway, thanks for all your videos man i appreciate you sharing the knowledge. ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
I've never bench bled any master cylinder. I've not ever had a problem with them building pressure, it might be because I wait a bit after putting in fluid for air to escape, you can usually hear the bubbles. I think I've talked about that a long time ago, I think it was a go-kart video though.
Well, this starter wiring is installed wrong.... NOT AT ALL! Someone ripped it out! LoL! I'll get under the car and re-attach the wire, maybe even today. The connector may be a bit loose from the abuse, this isn't the first time its been pulled out on this car, but last time was me (wasn't in a video).... but it took quite a good amount of force. However, the owner was the one who reattached it, so I don't know how tight it was after that. I'll get it fixed!
@DuckmanCycles Thanks for responding My Lord. One more question. What is happening to Gregory. I'm asking because I've just started a 67 split. (Percy)
That is a unique VW design... you truly only need one switch for the brake lights to work, even in this case. VW intended this to work so that you have a warning light on the dashboard that lights if one brake circuit is failing.... just in case the drive is too stupid to notice the brakes aren't working. LoL! Here's the wiring schematic. duckshit.net/pics/brakeswitches.jpg
@@gravedigger8 That's because its not a VW! HEHE! This really was a silly design on their part, probably just some engineer flexing his brain muscles. Even my modern car has a single switch. No redundancy either.
@@gravedigger8 67-69 is a real weirdo! The dual-circuit master cylinder has THREE brake switches! A later 2-switch master cylinder will work, the 3 switch one is hard to find!
3:00 The cup seal that pushes the fluid is =just= supple enough to seal when you hit it hard, but lets fluid by otherwise - had an old Datsun truck that did the same thing. Ended up getting a seal kit because new cylinders were far beyond my budget; used a brake hone on the cylinder, stacked everything back together, worked great - then it got totaled by a Suburban.
@@DuckmanCycles I remember drilling a 1/4" hole to drain brake fluid....and another one for brakekleen... Take care from the southern interior of BC Canaderp a-derp
@@sixtyfourchebby4507 thanks man, while I was reinstalling the master cylinder actually started to drip out of the weld seams.... and made a mess in the driveway. Better out than in, they say!
It helps! Recommended, especially if you find the brakes need a double pump to work. I did another video just to feature it and the differences I noticed.
This is a big problem with AI. You are not going to be able to use someone's likeness without their permission. Other wise anyone could make anyone say stupid and hurtful things as they please. Anyone can see that you did not do that but it is going to be stopped as soon as someone says something or they may have someway to watch for this kind of thing.
Thank you, but as I said in the video.... this was a person or people, not an AI, not a Facebook policy nor any other thing like that. While such things may be a problem, they were not THE problem here. My follow-up video on the subject explains the meeting I had with the people in question. Check it out! Thanks for the comment!
Duckman, I don't think either was offensive. It's the same type of humor seen on late night TV. You were poking fun at both candidates. Keep up the good work and the videos.
Just wow some people . I’ve followed snd known you for years now Glenn and not once have I heard you say anything wrong or got offended in anyway. Keep what your doing sir 👍
