Is the field rutted from being disced? I have fields brought out of crp (30 yrs in crp) which are very rough and I suspect we're disced years ago.

This was disappointing, I was hoping for natural ways of managing our native plants. I have read about burning or goats etc but this is just using chemicals. :(

I made a jig to cut them into planks for projects. The purple heartwood and knots look nice ripsawn. Make fence posts out of the medium sized ones. Toss a few in my pond every year for fish structure.

I just learned about autumn olive recently and now I see it *everywhere*. I dunno if t it's having a breakout season in my area or if I've always just ignored it because I was always looking for other stuff (like blackberries, which ironically are getting squeezed out by autumn olive in all my favorite spots). they're very tasty but they're just swallowing up all available woodland edges in my neck o' the woods.

Should note that reed canary is native to all temperate areas of the world, so there is a native genotype that is not aggressive. This is particularly true in the southern half of the state. In northern midwest states the Euro genotype has become dominant and given this grass a bad reputation.

Picked up a bunch of damp towels off the ground at night and threw them in the laundry room, saw something big crawling in the shadows, I thought it was a roach at first. turned on the light at it was a huge recluse walking slowly back to the pile of towels.

Michigan University has some awesome citations that show MDC promoted the sale and planting of autum olive from the 1940s into the 1970s. You should've opened with that. Built a little transparency. Telling how all the invasive "hints" on this channel leave out that fact.

Why didn't you mention having a burn regiment? Exhaust that seed bank and reseed with native or nondestructive perennials.
