Hahahaha, when the Germans did the subtitles they were too humourless about themselves to accurately translate "Jerries" so instead they wrote "Germans." 😂 Typical Germans!
Der Kanal heißt: Peter, Paul and Marty
The more I see of these guys, the more I'm reminded that even though they're known for daft mayhem, they're also excellent musicians and a really tight combo. More madness, please.
This guy could have done anything...and probably would've by now had he not been taken from us so early...he was so much more than what he was known for....he was an intellect and a philosopher.
Apart from Marty, I don´t remember the names of the other two - the wife and the travel salesman - but I watched them a lot on BBC shows. Brilliant comedians.
Bit late replying. You are right! A compilation of 5 ALT1948 show was returned from Sweden to the UK in 1989. At that time only two episodes of the original 13 broadcast in 1967 existed in the UK. Two further episodes turned up in 1994, one in 2003, one in 2010/two in 2014 and two in 2015. Some short clips came back from Australia and offair audio recordings have also turned up. 10 episodes in the original edit exist and from the Swedish compilation one episode has been reconstructed in full using the offair audio as a source. 18.30 minutes exist of one further episode and about 6 minutes of one episode. So out of 13 episodes broadcast, 11 exist in full, plus one 75% complete and one 25% complete. The BFI DVD is very good btw!! So what you saw would have been sketches from the compilation, not the original 13 episodes, but the 5 compilation episodes with a mix of sketches from both series broadcast in 1967.
I watched Marty Feldman on The Dean Martin Show and that brought up these videos to watch. Very funny! Never seen these before. I love British humor like this and Benny Hill. Thank you for uploading these!
In a perfect comedy world, wouldn't be be funny if Marty Feldman played the role of David Spade in the movie Tommy Boy with Chris Farley, just a funny thought
Tim Brooke-Taylor (RIP) as the "you're 'it'" man... and *four* future Monty Python members (Cleese, Chapman, Palin and Jones) on the writing team. Classic.
Does anyone know the performer on stage with Marty in his stage show at 27.40??? and is that Peter Seller's son, Michael at 41.31 playing with the props of the cabinet doors...?
