Thank you so much!! This tutorial is amazing!!! But I still have one unanswered question about handle frames. A lot of people from the VFX departement want/need handle frames. How would I add these? If I want 10 frames handle length know that I can add t.ex. 10 at the export. But it adds all 10 frames AFTER the clip, but what I want is 5 before and 5 after the clip. How do I do that? Thank you so much!
I use High Pass filter in Syntheyes for tracking a lot of shots and it was interesting that you did that in After Effects, btw have you ever used Syntheyes? And again thanks for high quality trainings, really top notch.
I have a question. Is it essential to do color management of the render files when the project is a 3D animation only, with no external camera footage? Since color grading is still needed at the very end, I feel like the more I have, the more I can work with later. How do you think? I don't really know the process of a professional 3D animation studio.
This is a fantastic explanation of the difference between workflows. The intro is amazing. I'm sure it is not appreciated as much as it should be but if you have clients, you should be used to that. Very well done.
I saw more than 50 videos about nuke but none of them attracted me as your video does 🤩 now I really want to try nuke on my own..... thank you for this masterpiece of a tutorial
At 15:20 the plates don't match, so I don't get why you're trying to match the blue hue when the environment you're working on is hotter in tones. Am I missing something?
Fantastic video. But one thing had me a bit confused. You said "log footage leads to smaller file sizes than raw" which is like saying "Rec709 has a smaller file size than jpg". Those are 2 completely different things. One is a color space and the other is a file format. I don't know if the log color space affects the file size on an H. 264 coded file but raw footage generally contains the information to work in a log format. But I learnt some new things about linear and non linear gamma/light. Great work!
Hi Jason. If you have a camera and record a file with a log color space and then record the same length file in RAW, you are generally going to get a smaller file with the log color space, no? This is a serious question as this is how it is intuitively in my brain but I just want to make sure I'm right about that. I think that's just what I meant by that phrasing. Thanks for watching!
As an old school 3d generalist coming from Softimage, I am impressed with your didactic and technical skills. This is a similar workflow that I (try to) teach my students! Well done!
