This is my first visit here, and what an amazing place , I guess the turntable was used for the diesels after steam to store more locos, using the existing shed.
Remember has a nipper born and growing up in Nottingham, wandering around Nottingham Castle 🏰 and dreaming of the magic tales of Robin Hood , thank you for sharing ❤
Superb placement. Castle remains unimpressive. Ugly plain 17th century brick replacement "castle" underwhelming. Contents mediocre to just fair. Tourist experience overpriced and not worth it. The town's not much cop either (anything old/worthwhile destroyed mostly by the Victorians and later by contemporary short-sighted local government waste and bad planning - witness catastrophically brutal-ugly Maid Marian's Way). Save your money, visitor. Try Lincoln instead - real mediaeval castle/cathedral combo. Food's better too...
had no idea this shop was there! and only about 15 minutes away from where I live, thanks for posting this video, looks like I've found somewhere to get my modelling bits and pieces.
@@EastMidlandsWalks-dl2qt I have actually been there a couple of weeks ago, picked up some bits and bobs I needed and an airfix Mary rose kit, then had a a chat with the staff there, friendly people and a fantastic shop, and its only about 15 minutes away from where I live.
Looks in great nick seen it so many times remember my uncle working at toton and he took me around when all the 10 was delivered it was a wonderful sight shame i did not have a camera
Nice walk, I've not approached the viaduct from.that side before. I've flown my drone over that area a few times and have some videos on my channel. I've added your channel, it's always good to connect. 👍
Only managed to cop a couple of them back in the day before they were withdrawn; this one, I think and 44004, which was the first one I saw. For some reason, they were put on freight diagrams through Coventry for a while back in the late 70's for a week or two. Word got round amongst the spotters and we tried to get as many of them as we could because we didnt get to see them that often.
Looks a decent one, looks like there’s a lot in that shop. Been to some with hardly anything in, not saying it’s all their fault in these tough times, but that looks decent.
Really pleased to see a shop like this...we had three in Preston but they are all gone..literally nowhere to buy kits or paint or glue etc....pissed off about it.
Thanks for sharing this video I will be coming to your shop you seem to have everything I live in Loughborough so it's only two bus journeys to get there thanks again 😊
May add that if it was not for the Strathspey Railway and a Mr S. W. Wood, D8 would probably have ended up as scrap. However, a very good job has been done and long may it run.
The problem is that a lot of these shops are disappearing from our high streets, because the company's who make these products are over priced, people and pensioners who are on low income just can't afford those price's it's becoming a hobby for the rich,😢😢,
Yes I agree, good thing about these local Model shops, you can see what you are buying, hold it, see if its what you want, and they always have second hand items, which you can view before buying. I can't afford the prices of new models.
Is it true sports direct now have shares in Hornby? I see there adverts on here showing Hornby stock in sport's direct shops selling Hornby at sixty percent discount,
In central Australia we had the NSU class which was a single cab narrow gauge Sulzer, it had a characteristic broad nose. They would pull the narrow gauge Ghan. All 14 locos remain in different levels of preservation, none were scrapped.
