I'm Frankie with Barlow's Boutique! Here you'll find mostly videos detailing my collection of sculpts (busts, figures, statues, etc.) and model kits I've built and painted myself. All things horror and nerdy, with a little personal stuff thrown in too. ____________________________ My Links:

By any chance have you actually read the book? Jason was actually renamed for the Tobe Hooper series. In the book and in the 2004 version (played by Andre Braugher) it’s Matt Burke. Same in this iteration. Also, the 2004 version of Barlow, played by Rutger Hauer is much more closer to the source material. King wrote him as a Dracula surrogate. In this version, it’s the mix of the two. The beast Nosferatu look with intelligence and even speaks. It’s Dauberman’s homage to the ‘79 Barlow.
@@kamen2011 I read it in Jr high and again in highschool. So the last time I actually read it was over 30 years ago. I have watched the 79 mini series a million times.
sorry to hear. i thought the exposition was super fast in some spots. that and the cgi were the two things I didn't care for. but over all i had fun watching it. I loved what they did with Barlow. his scene with the priest was awesome.
*It is in the theater right now.* It's staying in theaters and being released on MAX on Oct 3 while remaining in theaters, and I'll probably go watch it in theaters, too.
I'm pretty hyped for Seasons 2 and 3, knowing the TLOU2 is being spread out across two seasons. Not sure how they're going to sequence it all, but I'm happy to watch and find out. Looking forward to seeing Abby on screen, her parts of the second game were my favourite, so if we get some of that, I'll be over the moon.
Hello Frankie, Thank you so much for featuring my video in your reaction! I really hope you enjoyed it. In the meantime, I decided to cut the bonus section, as it didn’t quite match the darker, more epic tone of the trailer. Perhaps I’ll include some fun extras in a future, more lighthearted project! Best regards, PP
As it is also one of my favorite movies. I am really trying not to get my hopes up. I am trying to keep my expectations low since remakes often times suck ass. This trailer does not help.
If anyone is watching this to compare it to the 79 version you are setting yourself up for disappointment. It’s not trying to beat the original we all love. Just watch it for what it is, a modern version of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot.
The original Salem's Lot is one of my favourite movies of all time so I didn't have much hope for this but after seeing the trailers I'm on board and really looking forward to this.
The only thing they nailed with the 90s remake was the kitchen scene. Hope they do the grandfather right. One of my favorite scenes in any king book. That showdown.
This is great my dad's next door neighbor in Palm Springs California was named Ben lane he was nominated for a Emmy for the original film in 79 for the makeup work he told me some great stories about this film and cast and the filming glad to see it being done again
No adaptation follows the original material exactly. How the material is handled is more important. I'm seeing a lot in this trailer that looks extremely promising. If this movie gives me some jumps and the creeps then it works.
I have been waiting my life for this .since I was a young child salems lot has been my favorite vampire movie . The window seen gave me nightmares to the point I slept on my parents floor for weeks . The older I got the fear turned into a wow and made me appreciate how awesome this movie really was . I was so bummed when they kept delaying this movie but with the trailer and October release date I can now relive those scary childhood memories once again . This trailer actually gave me goosebumps the music they chose is perfect .
I hope this remake doesn’t rely heavily on CGI. The practical effects and makeup from the original is what made it so terrifying. They didn’t rely on jump scares, it didn’t need it. Needless to say, I’m fkn stoked for this movie, but I don’t think it will exceed the original.
@@barlowsboutique that’s unfortunate, CGI personally takes me out of the moment. Poor CGI aside, what they’ve done looks incredible. I hope they have more Barlow than the original had. I only recently learned they filmed and cut so many of Barlow’s scenes in the original. They have a real shot to follow the book on this one, and gosh I hope they do.
Actually there were a few jump scares in the original. Barlow popping up in the jail cell, Ned Tibbitts popping out from behind Ben's door. Both were unexpected and startling.
The CGI really bothers me, that is Anne Norton being thrown in to the church and it looks naff. Barlow does speak apparently and he's a mixture of Nosferatu with some additional demonic features.
Streaming services sometimes seem so intellectually challenged. They have some great movie and are throwing so much money away by not releasing some of them into the cinema
