Chopin, Lizst and Schumann all wrote a piano concerto which defined an era. while I like them all, I rate the Schumann concerto as the best, followed by this one, Chopin #1.
Conducting with your eyes closed is all wrong . Conducting is all about communicating with the orchestra and how can you communicate with closed eyes .
Aussi à mon opinion la extraordinaire pianiste et le chef et l'orchestre vivent heureux dans la musique. Ils le montrent par ses gestes. La musique me fait sentir quelque chose de même, de bonheur.
This Ballade no 1 has become a goal for all pianists. I have only heard it live once, in Skagen, Denmark, about 1975, with a Russian pianist. As I understand, Olga Scheps here delivers a quite fantastic version, but dont listen too much to me, I believe that an expert on this music you can only be living together with it for a long time. Or a long life. But in my humble opinion I very much appreciate Olgas playing.
so , noch n kommentar ; ich bin chopin-fan . ich finde das sehr schön , daß ich die meereswellen höhren kann , denen auch chopin zugehöhrt hat in seinem valdemossa . das is mal ehrlich . . .

I wish politics and working together would unite us like this kind of music does. Instead politicians try to divide us. In Germany we having that divide going on just like or American brothers and sisters. Feeling something we all agree on, feeling something like appreciation and maybe like love together<> that makes me feel good. danke for the upload and Danke for your love.
Dear Olga -be careful-you are nearly falling from the chair. P.S. It may be composed to play it forte but it would sound in my opinion better to play the slower parts more peacefully. Of course technically played well done 👏
