Totally scummy click-bait. Showing old run-down hotels and b-roll from the 2.5 month off season is cringe. I get you don’t visit Branson regularly, apparently not understanding that most visitors have moved to the new vacation rentals on the lake. This is YT at its worst. Kid…find something else to do. You’re not good at story telling.
It was simple, new and fun 50 years ago. Fairly good restaurants. Interesting activities. Then it grew and grew. Lots of crooks … It’s its own town now. Big enough to live without tourists. We go every few years but just shop a little.
Let's be honest, you went during the off season and took b-roll during non-business hours. We were just there last summer with our young kids and it was just as busy as ever. Same bumper to bumper traffic that it had 20 years ago when I went there as a kid. It literally was just as busy as ever. There is definitely a shift away from the attractions that boomers and their parents were attracted to versus younger generations, but Branson seems to be doing a good job of pivoting to a younger clientele that isn't as interested in 50s musician impersonators. The river walk was literally jam packed, the only way you got B-roll of it empty was by going before any of the businesses were open.
Ryan, We just got back from Branson yesterday. The accommodations we wanted at four different places were full (October 1-9) but we managed to get something. We like September through May visits to Branson because you don't have the crazy busy crowds every that you do during the summer months. We go up there several times and we'll be going back next month. Branson absolutely IS a destination. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be so crowded even in the off-season (if there is one). And why comment about Panera closing when you obviously knew they moved to a better location? Sure, there are new businesses that come in and old ones that go, but there's always a lot going on. Parking downtown and at the Landing was basically non-existent while we were there, and there was a lot of foot traffic in those to areas. Branson doesn't need a rebirth because it's still alive and well.

I think "collapse" is a bit hyperbolic... especially since 2023 saw record numbers for tourism and 2024 was down only compared to some higher numbers. Maybe inflation and trying to buy groceries took priority for some folks. Branson has some abandoned, decrepit buildings and storefronts but it also has beautiful, well-maintained, busy spots as well. As for lines out the door, you were apparently there during off-season, which is when I like to visit Branson, too, because when it's busy, it's really, really busy. Anyway, I appreciate whatever you can do to keep Branson a well-kept secret. Wink.
Hey Ryan, judging by your video, I am guessing that you were here recently - probably about Early to Mid-September. Do you know what happens here at that time? The summer crowd (families and students) go back to school and because it is still very hot and humid in town, the senior crowd with their big motorcoaches hasn't started arriving yet. so there is a 2-3 week lag in tourism while the audience demographics change over. I would suggest another trip here from now until the end of the year and you will see a very different Branson than is depicted in your video. Here at the Dutton Theater, we can look right out the box office window every single day and watch the cars line up on 76 on their way in and out of Silver Dollar City - we get to watch the line that goes all the way around Andy's Frozen Custard at night, and the near accidents in the center lane while our audience is trying to turn into our parking lot and the audience for the Acrobats of Shanghai is trying to turn in to their parking lot at the Mickey Gilley Theater. Branson has it's ups and downs, and of course we would love to see more people here (thank you for suggesting to your followers that they come by - we all appreciate the shout out!) but I think you may have underestimated the amount of tourism that is still coming to this town, and the new business that is checking us out for the first time.
I have nearly the same setup: Sony a6400 to ATEM Mini Pro ISO; Shure SM7B to Rodecaster Pro 2; Rodecaster Pro 2 (dual audio to 3.5mm) to ATEM Mini Pro ISO; External Drive connected to the ATEM. But I have a problem: I'm recording great video, but NO AUDIO. The "MIC 1" on the ATEM is ON. I've recorded 33 episodes, but now I'm recording no audio. I did check the ATEM software and made sure the audio was set to "LINE" instead of "Microphone." Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped. Btw, love the videos.
Well I actually meant 92. I think he started performing in Branson earlier than that but the theatre specifically opened in 1992, hope that makes sense.
The 4 bikes that they made that I have had a close look at didn’t impress me. On the one bike I was shown the paperwork and that bike wasn’t worth near what the original owner paid for it.
I remembered watching a few minutes here and there. Never like the arrogant, bombastic & self-aggrandizing father. Besides, they crafted shitty machines anyway. They were way over their heads with a new $12 million USD facility. Despite the sagging TV show, there's no way, they could've pulled it up as a viable business, unless they were importing some Columbian white powder or California premium weed to NY.

It’s all about the ISO choice. So choose the ISO depending on the light. Bright day 100, overcast day 200, evening / darker 400 and use flash indoors ans when darker. Also hold the camera steady when you shoot, some of the blurry pictures clearly were shaken.

I like this video a lot!! Much more so than its clickbait title (to please the algorithm, yes I get it). Gorgeous soundtrack, good arial shots, and the narration feels very genuine. You captured the feeling. I totally resonate with what you're saying about Branson. It really is a one-of-a kind place that is full of good, wholesome energy. Living in Branson for 8+ years I can tell you it also has an underbelly too but I believe there is more good than bad here. A peace and innocence still resides here. Preserved through all the nonsense of this world (the nature helps). But its more than that...its the society. A haven from the rest of the world. A constant magic like Christmas about it. Its a blessed place.
I agree with what you're saying about Branson, my reason for going there is because the Osmond Brothers had a theater, yes I'm a fan and have been for over thirty years. When they no longer performed in Branson I continued to go back, although I don't know why, there's something about being there I can relate to for the most part I'm glad that I do go back but there are the times I question why.😂 I would be glad to hear if you continue to enjoy being in Branson evan though for me it has changed but nothing stays the same.
Glad you found your solution. There is a lot of benefit to learning how to focus manually and truly isn't that difficult. You could practice on digital if you didn't want to spend much on developing film.
If you were getting consistently out-of-focus shots on something like an A1, assuming you understand the basic idea of split-screen focusing and weren't just guessing, it might have been a misaligned focusing screen. Not to dissuade you from an autofocus film camera, just saying that it might not have been your fault.
While I never used Canon SLRs, I had a Nikon N90s which came out in 1994, but its cheap and its about as modern as you can get. You don't have to worry about incorrectly loading the film as its super easy, the camera mostly takes care of it for you. You metering is spot on, takes the guesswork out of it. Super fast auto focus too. So I 100 percent get it and some of my best photos on film I took was from the N90s, however personally when I was using it, I felt like I was shooting digital which is not what I wanted because I wanted film to slow me down as a photographer so I'm back to using old mechanical SLRs. Great video, it was interesting hearing your experiences with the different cameras. There are a lot of amazing film cameras out there that can be had for relatively cheap. Thanks for sharing!
Seeing how this is just a carbon copy of the Spengler wand with a new coat of paint and new grips I passed on it. I got snap on grips for my Spengler wand that look 10x better than the brown on the grips.
