Hello, my name is Mairi and I am a registered nutritionist, PhD student, and personal trainer in Scotland! Subscribe and follow along on my journey for vlogs and healthy living tips!
Hi Mairi, Just started following you! I am in Lincolnshire and starting my PhD in Nursing part time whilst working full time as a nurse consultant! Thank you for your content! Janice!
@@maimai571 I just started this week! University of Derby! It's going to be interesting!! I am 46yrs so different life challenges!! Your videos help give me insight! Keep going and keep warm and rehydrate!! 🙌
@@NurseJanice Oh wow, you must be so excited! To be honest, one of the challenges that I have had during my PhD, is that I am young! It can make it harder to fight your ideas and get your points across. So starting later can help you so much with the process. Thank you so much for the comments :)
@@maimai571 aww bless you! Your young but you see things with fresh eyes and as you get older we get narrow minded!! So I have to now open up and see things in a new light! There are always postive and negatives to age!! Your doing amazingly 👏 keep going!! X
Hi The link of your insta in your bio on yt is just the oficial page of instagram, you didn’t actually put your insta account. :))) hope you see this comment and change it
I’d love to know how you liked the book. Maybe you could do a little book review video? Also, major props to you and all the hard work you’re putting into your phd! You’re doing great 🎉🎉🎉
This is entirely irrelevant but you look incredibly similar to the Swedish actress Alicia Vikander. Watching you talk feels like I'm rewatching The Testament of Youth 😅🙃
@@diasposangare1154 Interesting question! I think if you’re passionate enough, you can do a PhD. There’s lots of support, but you need to work hard. I think everyone is smart in there own way and would say I work hard, but am passionate too and that’s how it works! What do you think?
I'm going for PhD in Brain, computation and data science this year, classes will start in 1 month. Its interdisciplinary, let's see how things will go on
This is very helpful. I have a common planner, you might like it. There are monthly, weekly, and daily pages. Has helped me a lot with work but now I’m trying to figure out planning for work and phd since I start in the Fall. I am funded but I’m keeping my full time job and I’m nervous about it.
@@maimai571 public admin and policy! My academic planner came in a few days ago and I’m staring at it deciding the best way to start prepping a simple set up.
I enjoyed this. Thank you. I tried completing your survey and got stuck at the end on the demographic questions. I don’t think this survey is meant for people outside your country, is it? I’m in South Africa 🙈
I've been struggling for at least 15 years with disordered eating, my mother used to hide 'junk" food from me growing up and now that I' m 25 and live alone it's not easy to have a normal relationship with them. I'm trying so damn hard to fix it but still I am obese and obsessed with the way I look so I tend to go the extreme route to change it and also isolate myself from social life because of it 💔 thank you for the kindness you used around the topic, sometimes it's really triggering to hear people yell at you to "just eat a salad and go to the gym"
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been struggling with this. These issues are so multi factorial and not as simple (ever) as eat less and workout more. Society has a very unclear view on what we actually know in science. Adopting a kinder response towards yourself is always the way to go! Thank you for your kind comment 🥲🤍
Your video making is really amazing .Your content idea is very good. But your video does not get much views. Because your videos thumbnail, description, titles and tag section has not well optimized If you give me permission, I will share some information with you to increase your channel. You get lots of subscriber and views, best regards. Thank you
Ah, man. I Iived in 2 towns and 1 village in London, across 18 years.. I now live just outside of London because my partner thought it would be better for my kids - Big mistake - London is magic! I saw the thumbnail of your video and mistook your intention. Seems that you had a nice time, but only saw 10-15% of London. Next time you visit .. please leave 'central London/Tourist Town' and explore just 7 of the 169 districts of London. or in the least 2 other boroughs beyond Westminster, Lambeth and the City..
Love how simple but effective this is! I already write down events/todos the moment I hear about them bc if I don’t I absolutely WILL forget lol (my ADHD brain is a sieve). But I really need to get in the habit of sitting down at a certain time every week and planning the week ahead. I use a black pocket Moleskine as my planner just bc it’s cute which makes me use it more 😂. Great vid, as always!
hi, mam I already analyzed your RU-vid channel .mam your channel has an SEO problem and the channel has no optimizations as a result your video is not seen by people and your channel not growing. mam if you reach your RU-vid channel by your video on your RU-vid channel and you want to get more views, and if you want everybody to know about your channel. if you want to grow your video views will be happy to help you, mam. mam, I'm a digital marketer SEO specialist. if you have any questions you can ask me
I should, in theory, be a computer person, given how much I work with them. But I mostly think in pictures, so if I have to work stuff out I need to *see* it even if it's all in words. I got a 5ft x 3ft whiteboard for when a notebook isn't enough 🤣
@@maimai571 A bit of everything! Used to perform (& teach dance), I was a fiction editor, personal trainer... Now I'm trying to move into 3D art and game dev. I'm hoping to go back to studying to maybe do game localisation some day.
I have a condition where I have "allergic" reactions without having allergies, which now includes chocolate and anything containing carrots/sweet potatoes/turnips/bell peppers. It narrowed the sweets options down to only one or two things ("all natural" colours and flavours can fight me, why is it always carrot), and I get so fed up of them that I'm thinking I'll give them up altogether and see what happens. I still get cravings for sweet things which I then can't satisfy because I can't bear to eat even one more of those same sweets! I've even gone off biscuits lately. Perhaps a concerted effort to give this stuff up entirely might get rid of the cravings altogether! 😅
Thank you for the comment! Wow, that sounds difficult to manage! Of course, speak to your doctor or dietician about altering your diet and what that may mean for your condition. Speaking from personal experience, I don't crave traditional desserts anymore. I still enjoy naturally sweet foods, but it isn't the same kind of experience as before. Have you tried 'natural' sugars like maple syrup, honey, agave nectar etc? Do you have a similar reaction with those kinds of foods?
@@maimai571 My blood sugar sometimes needs a pick-me-up (medically checked, it's nothing beyond my diagnosed condition) and the oats-and-honey bar I prefer works fine for that - but I never crave it the way I would with sweets. Same with the rice sugar based protein bar (the only one I can safely eat). They both do the job, but I don't crave them. In fact, I have to keep them in a see-through container to remember they exist when I need them 🤣
@@thestraightupguide I get you! Why don't you try a fun refined sugar free recipe and see how you like them for a pick me up? You might find them to be more enjoyable. 🥰 There is a recipe for the caramel shortbread in the description of this video!
