whaddup! i told that’s “terrific” i watched y’all and the other youtubers awhile back and i tried to make videos but kept regressing to base knowledge and it was boring and like “what is music?” and my family got mad but i cracked it now, i know we’re all set in our ways by this time but it’s on my findings are on my fb page
Love the "loose" quality of your playing in this piece. Especially given Sungazer's, dare I say it, angular syncopation (which I like). Badass, dude. Sounds very organic & in the moment. Love it.
I totally understand what you mean with improvised solos. When writing my music, if a song needs a solo I'll generally do some improvised takes figure out what parts I want to play and then refine it down to a cohesive part that still has some improv elements.
that lost woods call and response is such a lovely little detail! and I am absolutely going to keep that harmonic tech in my pocket, it's such a simple idea but sounds absolutely excellent and super interesting
Every time I see Ben Levin play insane guitar it comes with this dissonant feeling. To me Ben looks and sound (when he speaks) like a type of musician that fit right into one of my mental boxes. But then he plays a guitar solo like this one (that I really like by the way😍). Musicians in that box do not play a solo like this. If I just had heard the sole not knowing it was Ben, the solo would have put him into a different mental box. The only think that might save him a little is that the song is in 7.... had it been 4/4 it would have been even worse. Not gonna lie, it feels a little greedy for Ben to insist on taking op space in two of my mental boxes.
I have never been able to do the tap harmonic thing how I see everyone do it. I can only pull it off with like a tight flick motion and less of a subtle tap like I see people do it.
