Absolutely amazing video and trip. I am preparing for this trip next year. Waterfalls route. My wife and I will be driving all the way from southwestern Ontario. I would like to ask so much, but it is not possible. Thanks for the video
I can’t believe how well behaved the dogs are in that canoe! I had a big chocolate lab German pointer for 15 years and there’s no way we could ever be in a canoe. It always had to be an aluminum fishing boat because otherwise she’d have flipped us. 😂 She couldn’t sit down for two seconds. she was always on high alert lol. Loved her though.
Great video! I had a dream a few weeks back that I found myself in Yellowknife for some unknown reason. I knew nothing about YK except that it lies far north. This prompted me to do some research and now I've booked a trip to YK and the NWT next summer. Can't wait!
Whenever the canoe is unstable or going to be unstable: getting in and out of the canoe, changing position in the canoe, waves hitting the canoe, or doing a rescue. Hope that helps.
Priscilla, this is brilliant!!! I was taught a totally different way, at Blue Lake, many, many years ago. This looks so much more sensible, to break the waters seal at mid gunnel, not at bow or stern. Wow!❤
Those are otters, not mink. I've paddled those lakes. Beautiful trip. Love the tent. I could never do the trip alone. No fear.....just too many things to do and see that I would want to share with others.
Yes they could very well be otters I didn’t get an up close view of them. However mink are in the area for sure. There were mink farms in the area till 2007 and mink was one of the highest trading pelts in the 1940s. Tripping with people may not always work as when I want to go, I go 😉. I do love this area and have paddled here, specially on this circuit, many times as well. Thanks for watching.
Snowtrekker tents. Dimensions on their website. Sorry no, it’s not lightweight as it’s made out of canvas. However it’s not bad when you don’t have to carry it far.
Hi Priscilla, Have you been in to the Jackson Kinnaird bridge this year (June 2023)? Just wondering if it's passable? Rumor is that water is very low and it's muddy swamp on the Kinnaird side??
Just found you through Boho comments. We share a few things and now I'm enjoying your channel. Ty for the comments on her page that's how I found her, was a comment on Flossy Roxx channel. So see you on down the road.
Okay this is 100% on my bucket list. Did you go to an outfitter? Im hoping its possible to go there with my own kayak and gear and find a place to leave my car while Im out there but cant seem to find any info? any tips ? - thanks for sharing. love the raw footage. Great job . newly subscribed :)
Thanks. No outfitter at all. I would highly recommend Lac la Ronge as a starting point for many years of adventures. The west side and northern shore line all around the lake offers 100's of islands to explore. Storage of vehicles can be done in Lac la Ronge however I usually choose a campsite at Wadin Bay and put up a little cheap tent (peg is down as it could get windy) as it is the most inexpensive option for parking. Choose a site that one can start to paddle from ; ). Gear should be waterproofed and always paddle close to shore and any crossing from island to island should be short/fast and not when it's windy, unless you are experienced. From Lac la Ronge you can venture up, 1 hour to Missinipe and the Churchill River system, and enjoy decades of exploring the lakes and rivers there. All the best on your adventures.
Hello my friend watching from korea! Wow that's Amazing ice bubbles my friend 😍 enjoy and keep safe full watch and support all the time done to your channel 😊
Yes in certain areas. There are "public" lands that have designated random camping. They are signed. You need to be self contained. Take out what you bring in (garbage, waste, etc). Sometimes they have pit toilets and garbage cans but you can't expect it all the time. Here is a link to give more information on these public land areas. www.alberta.ca/public-lands-camping-pass.aspx?GoA&CampingPass
Just a heads up, most areas along Abraham Lake do not require the pass as they are recreational areas (some do have random campsites) and are marked. Best to find the signs and know what you need to do. cheers and have fun
Wow! Beautiful trip! I wonder if the road in to the waitabit rec site is passable. Between Golden and revelstoke. I spent 5 days there Sept long weekend. It was VERY hot. Incredible spot.. and I can imagine winter there would be so very gorgeous!
What a fantastic compilation of our gorgeous park. The tornado hit it quite hard a few years back and displaced a lot of the wildlife but it’s coming back. Thanks for this!
@@capaddler Ya totally! Thanks so much for the quick response! 😊I was looking at the Seek Outside for the longest time because of the packability, but now I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger. Cheers!
Beautiful river trip!! Looked to be very exciting, and challenging. Great footage of some very nice runs through the rapids and chutes. Was that an Arctic fox? Thanks.
It was last month. I went the eastern hwy through ft vermilion and the high level. I’m back in the Edmonton are right now. I was just wondering where you might be when I saw you with Alberta Skokie. I was not around when you past by Edmonton. Not sure when you will be headed south and west again or if I’ll be around. I’m heading back up to Yellowknife later in August, I think. Need to take up some canoes.
