I have a Covert AW1-V Trail camera. Do you think the Solar Panel will work with that camera?
@freedomiseverything2767
@freedomiseverything2767 Год назад
Hey I'm developing a device for 6 volt trail cameras that does not need exposure to light It's based off the technology that's over 100 years old I'm just surprised people forgotten about it potentially this could run your camera permanently it does not put out much energy that's why it was not pursued deeper but with today's modern electronics that's perfectly fine especially trail cameras that draw a couple of milliamps
@freedomiseverything2767
@freedomiseverything2767 Год назад
Cellular plans in Canada for trail camps are ridiculous they're $15 a month for the basic package at most 100 low quality pictures and coverage is spotty at best in rural areas And if you're like me running six cameras Plus that gets expensive real quick $90 a month and that's if you don't go over the hundred pictures and forget about video you're probably going to hit the thousands you're better off just running a cellular plan for $60 a month per camera with unlimited data this would come out to $360 a month or $4,320 a year and I still did not include the online storage in that price You're better off getting a non-cellular camera that can take a massive SD card like 128 gigs or 512 sitting your videos to 10 seconds and 5 minute intervals between photos and video But I do like solar panels nonetheless they work great on cameras and on top of that you can get away with a smaller solar panel if you don't have cellular I like to check my cameras once or twice in a year and then yank them after hunting season

Will a trail camera that has a 12-volt port for a solar panel. Can it run off 9-volt solar panel? I was going to run an Exodus Render off the 12volt port and an Exodus Lift II off the 9volt port? If so I could use this panel.

Hey James, since both of the cameras require 12V, this will not work to run both cameras at once.

Sorry for your ignorance in manufacturing, but we understand who the trolls work for and everyone can see your motivation in leaving this comment, true or not. For the record we have never heard of herd until long after we had ordered and received this panel from the manufacturer. In fact we have discussed this with herd, we received our first shipment of panels at almost the same time as herd and well before he released any video or marketing of it. So no need to imply we "stole" anything, that is just ignorance on your part, or maybe you are aware of this but simply have another motive.

Just started looking into solar for the trailcam. I know nothing about the solar stuff, but found this video pretty good. I use a Browning StrikeForce HDpro and GardePro A3 cams. Will this unit work with these? And how would two be connected?
@spencerlewer7053
@spencerlewer7053 Год назад
Both of those cameras you mentioned require 12V. This solar panel has one 12V output.. the other two outputs are 9V and 6V. If you would want to run both of these cameras at once off of the same solar panel, one of those cameras would require a 6V or 9V input. You would need a solar panel for each camera. You will not go wrong if you decide to purchase these!!

Did you just straight up copy the herd 360 solar panel? It's exactly the same and he claims to have designed it.
@waynehfulcher
@waynehfulcher Год назад
It was verified herd has not paid for any exclusivity nor does he have any sort of agreement for any rights to any design ideas he may have sent to the manufacturer. Not to discredit anything herd may have said about making suggestions to the manufacturer but everyone knows the manufacturers will sell their products to as many companies as they can. They do this with trail cameras and every other product they own. It is commonly referred to as a "white label" product if a single company does not own the rights to any design.
@herd3609
@herd3609 Год назад
Thanks for looking out for me Jesse. Unfortunately what Wayne says is true. When I first approached several manufactures overseas to take what I had been building customer for years into a manufactured product for me I settled with the current manufacture and we had an agreement not to sell them to anyone else. I immediately went to work giving them design changes for a future model. They then started producing the new model with all my exact design enhancements. Then they informed me they would start selling to other companies. This was a huge blow to me and I looked at every avenue I could to stop it. They also informed me that our agreement was only of the first generation model. So when nobody in the industry had or even thought of a larger unit I came along and found someone to buy into what I was already doing and therefore created my own competition. Won't happen again and I already have design ideas to make it better. Now I just need to find out how to keep it exclusive this time.

The solar panel can support a python cable for anti-theft purposes. We realize this solar panel isn't for everybody, but it's designed for certain situations where the camera may be located deep in the woods, or in an area of poor sunlight.

Thanks for the good review. I am wondering if you could provide any feedback on the housing and it's composition to try and predict it's durability. I'm in central Texas and the sun is actually good and bad, because it degrades materials like cloth, plastic, vinyl, and anything in-between. We have 4-5 months of 100+ degree heat sometimes. We've seen that the best materials for solar panels are a type of plastic that is UV stable. Any thoughts on this?

Is spypoint 15,000mah? as I think they might be the same panels, but this one is 25,000...I think that panel will take longer than 4 hrs to charge....or is that what the specs say? it usually takes 8-12hrs to charge 10,000 mah but it also depends on the type of plug end that fits into your panel as they are all rated for different charging rates.

ya its hard to find anything cheaper though with that amount of juice as all these companies buy from the same Chinese supplier...You would save on batteries for sure...So after 2 years you would be ahead of the game if your cameras take lots of pics.
