Hello Friends, Buddy here at Haas of Props & I want to thank you for checking out my channel! I build replica props, armor and weapons from some of my (and yours) favorite TV shows, movies, & more by using a variety of techniques ranging from EVA foam to 3D printing. (Sometimes combining the two!) My videos are my attempt at inspiring others to make the props they want to own by showing them the techniques to make it on their own.

Amazing watched it 70 times to complete mine exactly the same pieces..couldnt wirk out the last 2 tiny tiny pieces one of which is a flat rectangle with a hex nut on it? 😂

I know this is an older post, but I’m currently using your tutorial to create my own Viking shield. Everything is perfect, but I’m struggling to get the bowl shape for the center. I’m using 5mm foam and am having a rough time getting it heated/shaped properly. Anyone have any tips or other methods?
This was my first ever boss and I found it difficult as well. What I have found to work really well since making this video is to really heat the foam and press it into a bowl that has a curve which is the correct shape. This will stretch the foam and give a symmetrical dome. Thanks man! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but next time I'm going to use a vacuum chamber to remove air bubbles. The 5-minute resin wasn't a problem, but the clear casting resin could have used it.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly remarkable. Would it be possible for you to share the original image file you used to draw the dragon? I would love to try making one myself and your design is simply inspiring!!

You did great hiding all of the seams. That's like my arch nemesis for some reason lol I've had this one on my plate for a good while as well. I have a half scale version I did but always wanted to do a full scale version
Thanks man! They are a pain! 😂 I've has to adjust my print temp a couple of times because I was printing at too high of a temp and it would create "elephant foot" problem. Then it becomes even worse to hide.
Thos looks incredible! Just purchased this pattern to make a helmet for a renfaire this fall! I'm so excited. Thanks for creating this. It's going to make my job so much easier. You wouldnt happen to have a gimli helmet in the qorks would you? Lol

@haasofprops I will definitely show it off and tag you. Probably on ig. It may be a couple months before it is completed. I'm working on 5 different costumes all together( 2 for me and 3 for people going with me) and three are a bit in depth.

I love when you sand the bondo down and you can see the original color through it. Just makes you really feel like you've done good work lol that's a really cool prop, I don't think I've printed anything from HOTD yet
You've got such an underrated channel here, great job again, looks wonderful! Just a tip, if you print in another color besides white it'll make it much more obvious where you have and haven't sanded.
Is there a parts list anywhere? I’ve been considering building this for a while but couldn’t find a video to go along with the pattern (this would be my first time doing anything like this) great looking build!

Thank you! It works really well on foam since it has flex to it after it cures, and it's also thick enough to really hold texture without losing detail as it dries.

@@haasofprops I need to make a more accurate version now. Did this before the show came out and when the show aired, I kept slapping myself with all the things not super accurate. 😁
@@RobPauza Maybe in time for the 4th season or the Mando & Grogu movie. It's still a really cool file, and the way you make assembly so easy has been super inspirational for my own work:)
Thanks man! I use a combination of AutoCAD & Blender. I don't know if I'd classify myself as a "modeler", but I can find my way through to a final design 🤣
Love it. I've found learning to sew has been harder than foam fabrication. It's weird and maddening, sometimes. But I'm getting better. Thanks for what you do!
Thank you! Yes, I did. Anywhere from looking at the black gate scene over and over and over again to looking at premiere events and any figures/statues I could find!
