Sherry + Abdul here, just wanted to give some insight into some of the weird choices in my deck: 1. You do have to pay full cost for Linorspharia, it was an elegant way to beat Star Scale which would have been a very bad matchup for me, luckily no one was on it and the Linorspharia ended up being not needed 2. You don’t need Dark Alice to ramp with lailah, distrust king will sacrifice her for free on a turn that you do not attack 3. Dark Alice + distrust king combo reliably makes your hand larger than your opponents, opening up roar of dark blessing plays 4. Abdul was 100% an anti-meta pick as he counters enter abilities in a format where other decks are heavily reliant on enters and board state Thanks for the breakdowns and the hard work Paul!
I know this is an older video but I just got the elemental surge starter deck from. God knows when, and I noticed it is very weak. I love the art and I think I like the idea of it but was wondering if you knew of any improvements that could be made to that deck to make it more powerful?
@@ReissTube I have run g/l/b mi sung. Yesterday I not run against mask decks, but I have play against lyka snakedeck , specialist ist very effective against snake form with solaria light on board. Game two mvp are the draw spell from misung against rezzard. And maybe odin. And game 3 against m&m It was a back and fourth and i draw this game because the pierce spell are a thing and dmg preventing spell survive his barrage with 100 lp in game 2 and we draw because I kill him with a hugh board and double atk specialist
Regalia removal will likely be coming soon. Is this worse than the [The Origin of the Seven Lands] + [Dreiwing, Mechanized Wind of Destruction]? It ruined the game so bad that stores just banned it before the company did.
@@actionjackson6943 yes it is worse. Dreiwing was unhealthy when revealed and did damage to decks who wanted to wash mana or ramp up The regalias have both barrier, (granted one is better than the other) wich makes them harder to remove and decks like wu, ark or 69 can`t even be played against them, cause they are unable to even play the game. Dreiwing was Bad but playerss were still able to play to some level against it. now if u want a deck that Does not simply get shut down from the regalias ssome/many decks just cant exist in that game state. its just lazy bandage fixes instead of adressing the real problems. kinda like giving ki lua a rwp even tho only tearss made her as sstrong as she were back then
I’d like a more definitive example but I hear what you’re saying. I see the pros and cons to both Mask and Star Scale from a deck building perspective and from a metagame perspective.
Let me try. The regalias dont effect the deck building but more the deck choosing. Sure, a meta deck will use certain stons with the M-star in mind and also will have less archetyp searchers/stuff that cheats that in, but many decks dont have that laxury, if they have to have these 2/3 cards in mind. For example: we had a strong ark player who can otk/ftk with a good hand (until tears got banned) But if he wants to play the deck now, he cant because mask makes it that he can not play any real cards of his (gears and so on). And the deck can not play generic cards. Or how about 69 For the most optimal build u will run 6 gears stones and 4 solaria stones, because you want to flip the deathcyth asap. Well forget that, cause M-star forces you to hold ur mana till you can remove or stun the M-star. So you have to have an out, an opening and possible ways to counter to even play your deck. Might not be the best deck examples, but i think it shows bad card design. If i lose to burn, i think then "oh should have thougt of that and maybe bring the red witch next time". But if i lose to the regalias i would go like "well my deck cant win against these cards based of the deck structur, so why keep playing the deck?" It would be in the smallest amout of fair, if the regalias only enter at the start of the game, if you got the matching ruler. The other floodgates are bad to go against but the leave room for interactions. Also foodnote: being like "oh well the new "Cursed Mirror of the Snake" sees alot of play and players are jusing "Setting the Stage for Providence" to counter it (because it is still the only counter to it) we will ban the card that counters it now and give you a new awnser to it in some later set, is lazy. Also the same set they gave us zacky, with a gods art that gets mirrored and you scoop up. ( i know cards like "Angelic Battle Barrier" exist but be realistic) Same to banning ki lua, when tears were the problem card at that time. Or giving as belial back, when the same set gave us aideen. And i could go on, but i think i showed my point
Mask is very good but its also feelz bad when you build your deck around it and you dont open it. I think mask is also not very satisfying to play unless you are glorious. The popularity of the 6 sages is due in part they are strong generic rulers whereas mask punishes archetype decks. I think moojdart is gonna be the target on a future ban list and i totally foresee grus getting a combo or two with red wine.
Question for game 2 on the last turn. Due to the J-Ruler having bloodlust isn't it forced to attack first instead of rogue spectator, and can't pass turn to win with Hounds -300 draw because he has to attack with bloodlust? Also, since Thir'ahmh can attack twice, isn't he forced to with bloodlust, or does bloodlust only force 1 attack?
Idk if youll see this, but i just picked this up in 2024 lol. Is there a good deck you can make out of this set by piecing it together? Or maybe make 1-2 decks with it? Vs just playing with them built as is.
We had a couple deck profiles for these decks back in the day I think. They are mostly designed to play against one another tbh in terms of power level, and are a far cry from the power of the game now so much further in the future.
The awakening of grus should cost 2 in game 2 since it only discounts in packages of 2 colorless and since it costs 7 under mask you can only reduce it to 1 Darkness and 1 Void since you cant fully apply the cost reduction.
Is there a site I can go to to purchase other people 's decks that they created? Or do I have to just look up a deck list for force of will and manually buy them?

But honestly it doesn't take that long to go into TCG and manually look up a deck list built on force of wind. Brand new to the game basically and super excited to get started. I just played my first match last night and it was awesome
Love Grus! I use a Replicant variant, the plays with Attendant of Asmodeus and Replicant Athenia are hilarious, but the new text and cards makes me want to explore other builds.

I fur one, have been enjoying Bianchi. He kinda cries against decks like Glorious, and control options have been doing well against my list, I can't see how well this one would purrform either, considering it plays less interaction than me. Isekai is a solid wincon fur Bianchi. I us Elektra fur Kimihe, Liberation of the Fires is the spice :3
Hey, this is going to start as a story and lead into a question. Story: It was around May to June of 2022. I had only been back from deployment for a few months. I was dying to sink my teeth into a different card game than Magic and Pokemon since that was what we had access to while I was overseas. Some buddies of mine from before it had told me they were talking about getting back into Force of Will and had planned to start playing in about a months time so everyone could build their decks. I remember loving the game back in 2012 and 2013 but the local scene had died entirely around then, but I was delighted to think that we were going to get to play such a cool game again. So I promptly started looking around at all the new cards and all the amazing art work. That's when I saw Typhon. It was perfect for me. I love cards in any game that allow me to break the fundamental rule of playset size and on top of that Typhon let me break the maximum deck size rule too. I started buying as many copies of Antibodies and Blood as I could get my hands on. Everything arrived perfectly and I started putting my deck together. I was extremely excited and when I got back with my buddies who had the idea in the first place, not a single one of them built a deck and told me they all had changed their mind and no longer wanted to play the game. Disappointed I had put the deck in a 5k and I ran across it not long before I started typing here. Question: Where would be a good place to actually get to play the deck I built? Maybe get help making it better or just learn in general things about the game?
I would recommend our "how to start playing in 2024" video on the channel! It is a great place to kind of break down what has been going on in the game/ways to play and places to play! There is even a free online locals called teh "Online league series" hosted via discord wher eyou can play using untap, table top simulator, or webcam! One thing to note though: typhon is currently banned in competitive play, but they are doing a "rework" on him and he should be rereleased and brought off the ban list in teh coming months.
we entered a space where simply by having such a high life total that a large swath of decks were gatekept out of the environment and woudl simply be guarunteed a draw or a loss against typhon before even picking up their opening hand.
@@RulerSchoolTCG Oh! Yeah that's problematic. Honestly, that was the past of Typhon I cared about the least. Didn't expect it to be the strongest part.
Recently while cleaning my Card drawers I stumbled upon my collection (mainly the rune rulers-alice origins III). Didnt expect the game to still be going. Maybe Ill look into it again (If I find a lgs that still runs it)
I tried reading the rules, but I don't understand what the 'solo mode' does. It's really hard to keep my friends into the game when they keep changing the game so much with each cluster, especially when I don't understand the rules myself from reading them. "where's the crests? don't I need a specific chant card to flip my ruler? etc."
Solo mode is text that is gained when you specifically only control 1 ruler/j-ruler that does not have revolution-order. So essentially, any ruler that is one by itself (no tag, no order, no moonchildren, etc) though you can have a sub ruler.
@@RulerSchoolTCG So could you use both Bianchi and Kimihe together if a player really wanted to? How many rulers can one player have? I remember there was a partner mechanic before with some rulers, do they no longer need this partner mechanic?
@@hayseshouhda5730 if you use the extension rule that came in the set, it grants kimihe and Bianchi tag, so they can partner together but won't have solo mode text..
I have a ruling question how [protect] function. In game 3 the j-ruler declares an attack that is 803.5 in the CR you gain priority to cast Athur at 803.7. So should not be able to declare [protect] because protect is declared after 803.5 or do I misunderstand the rules?
You might be right about that one! The timing of protect is a little weird to us and we haven't quite figured out, but with your walkthrough of the step by step in teh CR i believe you are correct!
the beatdowns from violet and other machines pumped up are pretty solid, especially when you consider multi-strike. The list is also playing mechanized blade dragon, which is insane with multi-strike. for instance, if you have assault troopers with a unity of the machines, then every time it swings you deal 2200 to their face.
Our "how to play force of will" video ends with a good example of slower gameplay, or our most recent "starter deck" videos like the Trinity cluster starter deck ones.
I really love Valentina gorgons deck, not the best blue chant but it's really nice when you can use it. I started playing FoW 8 years ago with Valentina from SKL, and now i'm playing the Alice Origin Valentina as my deck. Really happy to see this video :D
As far as lapis cluster rulers go, I've been trying to make Pricia work again. The new Twelve Sacred Knights are actually a huge buff to the deck, being/triggering more resonance, and the blinking a stone playing really well with Pricia's stone and the temporary stones from the nyarlathotep cards. As well as playing really well into all of the new regalia since nothing the deck tries to do plays into any of them at all.
I woudl put him squarely in the rogue/tier 2 ish category, but at a locals level/small scale event level he has some legs and is still a blast to play!
So i've always wondered. If the fox loses its abilities, does it lose the ability that says that it can't do combat? Like how would that work? I'm assuming it doesn't lose that since it's not in the abilities box.
@@RulerSchoolTCG so the same would work for the Kaguya that has no stats the one crying. If she ever taps 5 treasury items she becomes a 1500/1500 but until that she can't fight even tho it's not written?
