My husband just got a MF model 12 working that we found in a barn for 20+ years. If i sent you a pic of the counter could you tell me if its missing something. 😊
@busybeefarms5929
@busybeefarms5929 Год назад
I will try, the counter, I think you mean what tells it when to tie… it is approx 4 inches round with large spike looking very thin and it rolls on top of the bail as it pushes out. The spikes roll along the bale and it attached to an arm like that after so many rotations it get to a spot that tells it to tie. This arm is adjustable to change your bail length. I can send a picture when I go back down to my buddies house where it is…
@rhondagavin6049
@rhondagavin6049 Год назад
I was talking about the counter on how many bales it made. It's on the side. For sitting in a barn for 20+ years, my husband got it going a couple glitches. When we started, when the arm goes around, it didn't hit the wire on the counter. I wasn't sure if it's missing something.about every 10 bales One side of the knotter doesn't come off, and we stop and clean the twine off, then start again. This baler has an international motor on top of it .

Awesome! I have an older pretty big hobart, great welder for big stuff, but it keeps jamming the wire inside the machine. I didn't even think about the inner sleeve until I seen this video! Great idea to go and look. Thank you!! I couldnt find your second video to see what your issue was, but it will keep looking! Thanks for the video!

How often do turkey lay eggs? How old do they have to be to start laying?
@busybeefarms5929
@busybeefarms5929 Год назад
Good morning The Tin Barn for the comment/question, I can not say for sure, I can remember as a teenager my grandfather had turkeys that laid eggs, seems like I remember they only got a few a month, those turkeys were not nice, the Tom would attack if you went in their pen… Ours are a different breed, farm turkeys/meat bird… they are friendly, and actually want you to come and interact with them… They are large and intimidating at times, ours are less than 6 months old (best I remember) and they have not laid any eggs as of yet. I know with wild turkeys, they only lay eggs after mating and that is twice a year. Spring/Fall. I will for sure do a video on the first Turkey egg whenever that happens. Thank you for continuing to watch/support our channel.

My father used to own one of these. To the best of my knowledge, there should be a couple of grease point on the back/bottom of the pickup too. Somewhere under the twine storage space. Might be you need to rotate the pickup to get them visible.

Did they say how easy it would be to train Max to use the Drinking Post? Please let us know how long it takes, for him and the goats.
@busybeefarms5929
@busybeefarms5929 2 года назад
Thank you Tin Barn for the question, Drinking Post does not say that the automatic watering system is compatible with Dogs, however there are a few success stories on their webpage talking about dogs being able to learn and use the Drinking Post. I can tell you that Max was the first to drink out of it and he knows that is fresh water, when we go down he will come to it and want that water, he just hasn't been able to figure out the paddle. I recently read a comment on their webpage talking about a barn cat that was using the Drinking Post... I think it will just talk time for Max to figure it out and use it. The biggest challenge will be convincing Laura to take away all other water sources, to "Train" the goats to go to it. She will worry herself to death to do that... Thank you for watching and commenting.

Laura, interesting video, but... why is the chicken tractor called a "tractor?" I searched and found a lot of plans, but no explanation. Guess I need to search more.
@busybeefarms5929
@busybeefarms5929 2 года назад
A chicken tractor is a chicken coop on wheels that moves around your pasture or backyard every day. It's called a chicken tractor because the birds loosen up the top inch or so of earth underneath the moving coop… much like a regular tractor. "TheLandConnection.org" This is what I found as to why its called a tractor... I call it a tractor bc thats what I was taught its called...lol Thank you for watching and commenting.

I think your asking about the drive gear oil- 90 weight gear oil. There are 3, two of them line up 90 deg from the third, one is dead center of the drive motor, I turn one straight down and that puts one 90 deg to the left or right of the center, after drain, plug the bottom, and add the oil in the center until it comes out the one horizonal, then plug the other two and your done... Hope this helps.

I also add mulched leaves in the fall and let them decompose into the garden area. Glad your posting, again. Did you happen to find some seed for full-size pumpkins? How do you pollinate plants in the hothouse, introduce bees?
@busybeefarms5929
@busybeefarms5929 2 года назад
Yes sir we did, also medium size… as for pollinate in the greenhouse… I’m assuming you’re asking about those tomatoes, I did not ask Baker Creek being it was so cold, Honey bees will be in cluster, they will only break cluster and fly out of the hive when the temp is above 55, I did see they had lady bugs in the green house, which would be to combat aphids, they love to eat them… I know lady bugs don’t pollinate, so I’m not sure if they are doing some type of manual pollination… Spring time during the day you would have the side up and being warm, the bees would make their way in… SO, to answer your question, I’m not sure in the 40’s hope they were pollinating those tomatoes, I did not see any bees… Thank you for the question and comments
