If you like this, you'll love Rachmaninov's variations on a theme of Paganini.

Why don't Yamaha make the CS80 again? I'd quite happily sell a kidney.

This is actually the first piece of real music that I had heard during my childhood and I still think that this is the greatest piece of music ever.

Matthias Chiu I love the fact they not only chose this as the theme to the southbank show, but it also has remained the theme for its lengthy run

I bought the LP Variations when it came out. It got played a lot with the resulting scratches unfortunately. I love the short jazzy numbers; the first half of Part 3 (here) and Part 4. I've just ordered the CD from Amazon.com. I seem to recall the music got made as a result of a bet about football (Millwall?) between the brothers, which Andrew lost (but don't quote me).

I bought this vinyl direct after it was broadcasted on Swedish TV. I loved it then and I still love it after all these years. Gary Moore RIP.

Looks like Julian had tourettes in this! LOL, I know he was just being expressive. REally like this though, true talent! <3 Paganini would definately aprove!
