My 07 d40 navara cant handle revving to 4000rpm, sounds like its revving out at 2500rpm, i havent floored it or taken it to 3000rpm becuase i think it might blow up lol some thoughts and ideas would be great 😊
Great video mate, this sort of old-school stuff just doesn't happen anymore and these sorts of videos are giving us something to have a crack at in the future. Awesome work
Thanks mate appreciate it ,with prices of everything on the up n up you gotta do what you gotta do to go that little bit quicker you gotta use cubic brains then cubic dollars thanks for watching and sub'ing 👍🍻
I’ve been looking at EGR deletes, I’ve heard one of the reasons to avoid it is to prevent knocking or the exhaust overheating. Have either of those issues occurred for you?
Ive had no issues ,exhaust gas / egt's/ over heating would be becuase of over fueling and being diesel they knock carry on because thats what diesels do unless its got bad mechanical problems thanks for watching 👍🍻
Ive got a 1969 AT4 V8 318 Shes got a hard body not a flat and i muat say shes a labour of love . Id love to fire a few questions i have out there but i have the manuals and the aptitute just lack the patience haha great job fella
@@pushrodtv6623 Thanks man, so I've replaced the tie rod and rod ends but only eyed them in as I totally forgot how many turns on each end so now any turns that aren't gradual I feel an almost juddering through the steering wheel. Could this be because I just centralised the tie rod and equalised the rod end turns till I got my overall width and refitted? This may be a basic question but it was my Dad's baby n I never REALLY paid attention and since he passed last year I've been feeling shitty about not knowing much more than brakes, plugs filters n fluids. TIA Cheers, Dan
Best thing u can do if running the water preheat is . The single carb manifold will foul the X2 headers but after market headers probably ok After cutting out the manifold coolant base ,,, found they get full of corrosion / compacted sand If going to use the factory cooling hose setup I would do this .
Thats correct about x2 headers and single carb manifolds ,(i haven't ) but have you tried the later single carb exhuast heated inlet manifold with x2 headers thanks for watching 👍🍻
@@pushrodtv6623G'day mate, I've got the same vehicle and mine seem to not revv up as I let the clutch off, would this be same problem? Drive fine still, just when I let clutch off in 1st it seems a bit unresponsive when letting clutch off
I'd say 10hp - 15hp but as with any engine it depends on engine combo but more to the point with this and p2 &p3 videos is about what you can do with little to no money and building on your skill set ,thanks for watching mate 👍🍻
Thanks for watching bud, what part of America are you from id love to get over there one day n check out all the good stuff you good people have going on over there👍🍻
@pushrodtv6623 brother I'm from Georgia in the south we have a huge amount of classics here if you want a good look at where I'm close to there Is a place called old car city its worth a look at its a old junk yard turned museum
I would look at a catch can before swapping out the TC as normally if the shaft seals go the compressor side is the higher pressure so the oil tends to go out the turbine side and into the exhaust stream. This is usually quite visible to all and sundry so I would imagine you would have either noticed it or been advised by the other drivers dealing with the smoke screen! 😂 I would also recommend giving the intercooler a clean as it is probably full of oil as well.
Theres no real smoke screen i think it need a catch can which is on the to do list as well as giving the intercooler and piping a good clean out thanks for watching and commenting 👍🍻
G'day Jim the slave cylinder number is protex ld43307 and the wheel cylinders numbers i dont have but i found them on ebay and rear wheel cylinder numbers are AP17507- AP17508 ultima brake parts sorry i didnt get back to you sooner thanks for watching 👍🍻
I'm very interested to see more and more, I'll be sitting down in the future to watch the video more in depth. I came over expecting to see a typical dodge truck, not something completely different, I love it man!
Not overly to much a little bit more fuel economany , a few kg's of whight savings and buy removing the pipe that goses from exhuast to intake manifolds that has coolant running through it is one less posable place for coolant to leak thanks for watching 👍🍻
Does it seem more responsive with it removed? What about the restrictions plates with 10mm hole or whatever? I'm wondering if this will help, mine seems bit unresponsive trying to rev when letting clutch off, drives fine though, just taking off in 1st
Stayed till the end. One of the volunteers who shovelled sand on the oil down in the heat and flies. I think it took an hour or 2 and then ran in the final of Hotrod and won. A top day was had by all. Met a lot of really nice people both racers and spectators. Grey motors for ever.
Thats great to hear well done to him 👌 nice work and your not wrong really nice people there it a great place to be ,thanks for watching 🍻👍 go the ol holden 6 bangers
I changed mine several time as it was going into limp mode. And it done it again then I pressurised the primer really hard and notic a leak between the hose from filter and metal tube at clamp . I tightened it as I think it was loosing pressure which caused the computer to see the loss in pressure and sent it to limp mode. Check all your fuel clamps near filter and lower near engine
Mad rig mate. Love how that door shuts. You need to get some plastic “Hornet” seats for the front. SUPER comfy, lite AF!! and you could cut the headrests off for the period look. I used to cruise from Brissie to the coast on a sat night and get home with no aches and pains.. Amazing seats!! Those prem seats are wayyyyyyy fat and heavy……. Also put at least 1 screw in those ally door cards!! If something nasty happens you don’t want to be cut to pieces by flying paper thin ally. 😱😱😱. Cheers
Yer the seats will have to wait untill i get the car on the road when the happens ill hunt around for era correct ones like ones out of a 6os mg or something like that and the door trims ill see how they go ,thanks for watching & commenting 👍🍻
I looked at this vid…… and thought WHY?? ……. But you know not all of us have drug money to throw at cars! And I LOVE the DIY style. Doggy old 6 banger manifolds are bloody agricultural at the best!! So WHY NOT!! Go hard man. I wish you great success.. 👍👍👌
Greetings again from Oamaru, Sth island New Zealand. Thanks for your vid. Question. Any possible causes to this misery?. 2012 Nissan Navara D40 St-X Diesel. 160.000 k.m on clock Symptoms... A putrid white hazy foggy smoke comes out of exhaust after around a minute of idling after startup. Engine has rough lumpy idle then cuts out. No fault codes. EGR valve and cooler fine. No overheating that i know of. I possibly have coolant leak but there's no coolant loss. No coolant in my sump oil, and no oil radiator. Cheers Carl
G'day Carl its a bit hard diagnosing any vehicle problem over the inter webs but ill try to point you in the right direction if you havent already get your self a work shop manuel check all the inlet piping and clamps are tight, clean the maf sencer, check the pvc system is not cloged up( positive crankcase ventilation) ,check over turbo shaft seals not leaking ,check fuel filters not blocked i hope this helps you out a bit thanks for watching mate lets us know how you got on 🍻👍
@@pushrodtv6623 Good morning and thanks. Yes I cleaned m.a.f sensor and e.g.r but will check e.g.r actuator mechanism later today when weather is calmed down. I'm not sure if diesels have P.c.v valve. Mine is a 2012 Spanish built Nissan Navara D40 St-X. All e.g.r circuit was decarbonized last week. Carl
Were all of those 60's and 70's Holdens 4 doors? I did see a few 2 door model cars but not sure what decade those would be. What was the white car at 13:00-13:05 that started up as you were passing by?
Mate its the luck of the draw on what we'll see at these shows theres a few 4 doors at the second show towards the end of the video and the white car @13 min mark is a Holden HQ Manaro ,thanks for watching 👍🍻
