You're going to be pulling about 6-10 gallons of oil with it.

Oil might be sitting in the barrel

Just check your oil level at the seperator and adjust accordingly. To check this is is in the IOM. I use my clear branded hose and hook up to the lowest point of seperator and the other side to the discharge line. Then open valves and see how high my oil rises and mark the seperator. Check your measurement and add if needed.

Is it okay to recovery the refrigerant from the bottom port of the evap barrel?

Yes sir, just always always ensure water flow. To push all liquid out of the chiller, you must be hooked up to the lowest point.

How do you open on the exv
@alanjohnson7908
@alanjohnson7908 Год назад
All from the human interface settings. This particular exv I would open then have to shut power to the chiller once open. This kept it open. Be aware some exv models can break if you do this. This particular valve was ok to do so. Newer chillers will stay open till you close it again.

Wouldnt it be best to hook up the vapour discharge from the recovery unit to the suction side of the compressor
@alanjohnson7908
@alanjohnson7908 Год назад
No because you are pushing the vapor through the condenser back to the barrel. This is to ensure you push all the liquid out. If I push the vapor from the suction side ill just get the barrel. It dosnt flow through the compressor fast unloaded. What you said would work good,(especially if the barrel is nice and cold) I believe, but I like pushing everything through the condenser to ensure I get all liquid.

How much time faster compare to the liquid-vapor recovery method?

Sorry I don't monitor the channel much. I'd be there all day and possibly some over time. I always push pull if possible. I started this recovery at 8:00a.m., and done with everything unhooked and tools in truck by 10:00a.m. after lunch I started changing fittings, had it charged and running by 10 the next morning.

Quick note- you will have to vapor recover once all liquid is recovered.

yes, however this is so so so much faster than if you recovered without this method... Thank you!
