I grew up in Poland and was catholic for 43 years before my wife and I left. I never believed as 70% of the catholic that piece of waffle contain true God. Faith comes from hearing word of God Romans 10:17. I never knew the bible my faith only came from what priest said, but I asked God for discernment and started to read the bible. few passages hit me : 1) ACT 17:24 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 2)Matthew 24:26-27 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. I always believed that Jesus is sitting at the right hand of his father and HE WILL come again , not that sinful human as priest have power to call Jesus from his trone ,Hebrews 1:3, Mark 16:19 even arc angels don't have that power. Here is verse that hit me even harder : 3) Romans 6:9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. If piece of flour and water made into waffle is true flesh, blood, spirit of Jesus then base on above verse it should never go under spoilage , church have procedure to dissolved the host in the water, or our acid from stomach is consuming it , leave the host on the table for few months and you will see what will happen. 4)In Exodus 32 people made golden calf and they said here is your God, in catholic church same thing is taking place people have waffle and magisterium is saying here is your god. Remember this is highest level of idolatry in Exodus 35 God killed 3000 people for the sin of idolatry. Doctrine of catholic church make Jesus death cheap and is robbing him from his Glory . I went to speak with the priest and he said quote" Jesus death on the cross is only 70% of your salvation and the rest 30% is the priest." I regret that my wife and I did not leave but I have learn from it that catholic salvation is conditional , dependable frim priest . For example my dear friend passed away all the sudden and his wife came to me and hug me crying said" Thomas I don't know where my husband is " I asked why ? She reply "I don't know if he committed mortal sin or not , or when was last time he went to confession or if he is in purgatory . I asked is our sin bigger that blood of Jesus can to wash it? Is fire of purgatory more powerful that Jesus blood ? Revelation 21:27 says " Nothing unclean shall enter " Catholic church used that as proof of man made doctrine of purgatory taking glory away from Jesus. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. I asked the priest what about man on the cross ? He was saved , priest responded " That was extraordinary act of mercy that happen only one time, you have to live up to his grace and proof your worth to be saved" I reply with Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. As a result of his ordination, he is true alter Christus" (The Latin Mass: Chronicle of catholic Reform, Summer 1995 "In this moment , the priest quite literally becomes Christ Himself"( This is the Mass, bishop Fulton J. Sheen page 100) This is blasphemy to think the priest becomes Christ himself , even Apostle Paul never elevated himself or made himself equal to Christ. Also this points out to : catechism 1367 : The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice: “The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different.” “And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner. .. this sacrifice is truly propitiatory.”19 where bible says Jesus was sacrifice once for all Hebrew 7:27 He died once for all sin for all times: there are no more offerings for sin Heb 10:10,12,18 Another example, catechism 1863 declares venial sins"do not cause death , only temporal punishment. This is doctrine of demons that embrace Satan's first lie to Eve " You surely shall not die if you disobey God Gen.3:4, 1 Tim.4:1 Bible says "The wages of sins is death" Rom 6:23 "The soul who sins shall die" Eze.18:4 One more example catechism 1992 says Initial justification is by the sacrament of water baptism . The bible says justification is by faith in what God accomplished in Christ Romans 5:1, Titus 3:7,Romans 4:8,5:17,11:6 Catechism 841 Speaks about Muslims and plans for their salvation and that they adore the same merciful God. This is bad , Muslims don't believe in Jesus and their God is not merciful. Last one catechism 2027 About grace " We can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life as well as necessary temporal goods. Bible says Romans 3:24-26 Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God- not because of works, lest any man should boast. @@tommad655 I still pity your interpretation of Catholics teachings, but I love your effort in finding truth. the only problem is that your search for truth is meant to confirm the errors you hold to be true. For example what's wrong with us praying the Rosary. "Canonizations of dead people" Even African Traditional religion would understand this better than how you look hold dear to those who have died. Your theology is protestant, so I understand you pain to justify it, using Catholic teachings.
