Japan Society North West organises events in the north west of England, giving its members the opportunity to experience and learn about Japanese culture.
I wonder how a koto player can be so calm and play it correctly without any metronome or sequencer, altough she is read a partitur, amazing. I love japan.
I see the point of this but I don’t think it works when you use English language. The way the Noh actors sing is rooted in the tonality of Japanese words and speech. So when you change the language but keep the “Japanese” tone of vocals it does not seem to work.
I hope I can learn to play this too, the sounds it make is so fascinating. After watching kono oto tomare, watching them playing it always give me goosebumps.
Enjoyed being a part of Japan Society NW's Japan Day 2021, thanks for having me. Feel free to ask any questions on my social media channels. Stay healthy!
me watching this after seeing an anime. 💜 wow... the anime wasn't exaggerating... this is such a beautiful instrument and when someone plays it with such skill and talent, it's truly mesmerizing... wow... 😍
