As someone who's played this game, I can honestly say that the ads are the best part about them. The game itself is an alright cute merge game with a cute unfolding story about Maddie learning about their family history through the mansion renovation while grandma Ursula is vague and not entirely forthcoming in revealing the information, much to Maddie's irritation. When I was playing it, it wasn't certain that there was a deeper mystery. The ads have seriously implied that there is, but I didn't find it to be that extensive. It may have been due to the pacing of the game. The ad campaign, honestly, is worthy of it's own movie 🎥 and I would totally pay to see it. It's amazing (as you already know).
I've never seen the live action ones before, Kathy Bates and Pedro Pascal!! but I've followed along with the animated ones... Super compelling and one of the most intriguing stories! I don't play the game and don't like merge games particularly but I'm really invested in the back story. (I also liked the ones about Merge Gardens where the people are frozen in time covered in plants and from different periods like the 1980s) Thanks for putting these together!
This is the most diabolical thing I have ever seen. Why does lily’s mom want to take her mans away from her every time? I’m glad her fake ah fell through that ice.
29:21 The urn being the same figure as her mother in addition to using the exact same pattern as her clothes is just a beyond hilarious touch, I swear it actually feels like this should be a real animated web series, I'd watch it
The playthroughs sound fun. I think you should definitely edit them. RU-vidrs like ManlyBadassHero or the older ambiguousamphibian longplays (e.g. “Project zomboid worst start zero to hero challenge“ ) edit out some of the boring / repetitive stuff and i expect quite some of it in those games. But i think you will find your own style in doing these things, like you did with the timelined ads. Godspeed tygosaurus!
