Everyone else in the world as well! This channel is to share, demo, and archive my electronics builds as I continue my electronics research, and other guitar/music related projects. Feel free to ask any questions, I'd be happy to help you!
Below are some links that were a great help to me.
Great video indeed, I bought te same amp two months ago and didn't have any idea about how to activate the effects, is the footswitch the only way to activate the effects? If so, then could please share the schematic drawing, I have no knowledge about electronics so I could send it to a professional to build it for me.
I have the original manual that came with my Hundred 212 (G100) combo amp, and it shows all the other amps in this series as well. Unfortunately it doesn't show or give any information about a factory footswitch. You did a great job on that switch and the added jack on the amp. I'd love to find something that nice. These amps are slept on. I haven't found anything close for tone and power under $700. I got mine for $149 last month, and it's with me for life. The reverb is so cavernous and classic, its hard to believe this isn't a tube amp. I love this amp!
Cool!! I have an V2 (1978?) it has a B!G low end throb, like a uniVibe! It’s very special. The bypass sucks tone like there’s no tomorrow but I’m planning on getting it mod... I just need to find someone in Spain or Europe who knows what they’re doing.
despicabledog Hey there, its been a while cant remember exactly but I did a search and crossed reference the other circuits for the Version 1 volume mod. Id have to get back to you on that one.
joannes meulewaeter hmm i don't have the amp anymore but the head is at least 20lbs and the cab is a Raven 4×12. I think the only model they ever sold. Was heavier may be 30lbs?
Thank You my friend for the video. An under-rated amp? for sure! I picked 1 up about 8 months ago. Any way you could hook me up with a schematic drawing of your foot switches cause like you I can find very little on this amp
Hey there Dave it's actually very simple. For every jack for the switchable effects on the amp, the Signal/tip is just being grounded and thats what disables the effect!
I DONT THIKN YOUR SUPPOSE TO USE ONE OF THOSE GOLD 1/8 INCH TO 1/4 CONVERTERS AND A CABLE THAT IS NOT A REAL GUITAR CABLE, THEY HAVE THE WRONG IMPEDANCE IF THATS WHAT IT IS WHICH IT LOOKS TO BE
Yeah it was more of an easy quick mod plus you can still try all of the new mods with each instrument sound yielding different results. I didn't mess with it and explore too much but I did find a sort of 8 bit square wave mod in it then bypassing the normal signal then sending it to the mixing amp. But I've got to find my notes again. That'll be in the future!
Got the same amp last week in mint condition. The cleans are amazing but lots of troubles with my fuzz/muff pedals. Fun to fix that. Thanks for the EQ tips and great what y did with the switches :D
+Greg Yankou This is critical! White socks are too linear and dull sounding when it comes to sweeping the filter, whereas black socks are logarithmic in nature thus closer to the original ICAR taper in wah wahs.
I would definitely buy one from you. Also check out Dreamweapon electro retro Spacemen 3 pedal. . My email address is juanbaudelaire26@gmail.com I would most definitely follow through. I already have a Vox Repeat Percussion pedal but I'd like to house it in my other favorite effects.
+Christian Guzman Perhaps one day, it was sold shortly after the video was made. Just search the Tim Escobedo circuit and the Vox Repeat Percussion, the layouts are available. The exact transistors and component values varied in my build as a result of experimentation. I can't remember and I never documented them so I'm just as eager to built it again.
Super-Cool! Want one, but have a couple of questions: - Is this the standard BYOC housing? - If yes, was it difficult to get the additional jack in (space-wise)? - Did you do any other mods except for s1169.photobucket.com/user/shorty65mustang/media/BYOCEnvelopeFilterMods.png.html? - What is the side switch for? Questions, questions, questions!!!
Hey, thanks! Glad people are enjoying the mod. Yes this is the enclosure that comes with the kit, I just etched it for graphics. No it wasn't hard at all plenty of space. i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r518/shorty65mustang/IMG_0724.jpg This pic shows is the pedal stock. i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r518/shorty65mustang/byocpinocchiotheory024.jpg The side switch toggles between the photocell and the stock "manual" pot for the filter. All of that is bypassed if you plug in an expression pedal in the side 1/4" jack which then also controls the filter.
Haha thanks, I actually used to play with it like this before going to sleep. I actually still have it, it never sold. I plan on adding a lowpass filter and controlling the sweep with a vactrol/optocoupler. It is still in the works!
Yeah I sold this one shortly after I made this demo video, I actually quite miss it. Sure I'd like to build more, just that no one has really asked or just fell through.
Thank man, Yes it the guitar>fuzz>tremolo>then amp. If I remember correctly I used silicon just one NPN and PNP low gain transistors. It just seems to be the nature of this fuzz circuit. It played and sounded like what I'd imagine a vintage germanium 60's fuzz would. Hard? Maybe, the size of this circuit was fairly small. Ha, soldering quickly becomes tedious Experimentation is key! Play with component values to change the sound to your liking, this pedal is the result of just that.
No not at all! All it took was the extra hardware such as the light dependent resistor, a DPDT switch, and a 1/4'' switched stereo jack. I'll make a diagram soon and post a link.
Hello, I can't quite read what you wrote, sorry! I like the sound too, made the pedal much more enjoyable, were you asking how to perform the modification?
