i actualy came up the same idea, i used anti slippery tape from ikea for in showers and on stairs. it feels like sandpaper, this was a left over piece of tape i got. i put it on the filter and also on my band clamp, it was sand up on sand and it slowly came loose. before that i broke two band clamps because i tightend them so hard to get grip , but the band snapped, and i tryed a shissel and a hammer as well, but the best idea was using anti slippery tape. the strange thing is i had 3 band clamps laying around and i never ever used them on any vihicle, they where just there for this harley i guess.

A nice very nice video with comprehensive steps this gentleman used to create an autofill in his fountain. Love the detail. Usually people inadvertently skip steps but he was perfectly thorough. Extremely helpful. I love how he made everything hidden and created a clean look!!!! I would love for him to explain where the water height in the fountain equaled the water height in the bucket. But all in all a GREAT VIDEO!!

Another easy solution is to hammer a long flathead screwdriver straight thru the side of the filter, and turn it off that way.

this is the dummy way of having a ripped up oil filter that is still stuck

this was a method used with old oil filters , they had a thick steel body and on a car with plent of space around, , now it is just a tiny bit thicker than a soda can, they just tear appart if you try to turn it with a screwdriver. this sandpaper trick can work for some , it is safe to try. the thing is these filters are realy stuck , and it is not the seal, even when you got it comming loose they are not turning around easy, it feels like threat locker is used, but i did not find any on it. i had maybe 3 full hard turns before i could unscrew it by hand.
