My aim is to make learning muscle anatomy easy, accessible and free.

it looks like the hamstring portion is smaller while the adductor portion is a larger surface area. But in some studies we see the adductor mangus is more of an extensor than an adductor. Do you think the adductor portion is also contributing and working as a whole in hip extension?
A wonderful vid, indeed! You show very clearly not only how the ITB works to provide a TON of stability to the hip and knee joints, but the joint movement it allows the other muscles to do!
Great vid! I'm doing a surface EMG study of wrist action in the tennis forehand. I find the tightening of the grip interfering with identifying wrist flexion. Which muscle would you recommended trying to get a signal from to isolate wrist flexion? Thanks!
How does external oblique muscle rotate trunk to the opposite when doing unilateral movement? Shouldnt internal muscle do rotation to the opposite side because it has insertion in the ribs?
Your posts are very informative! Can you help me with a question about this muscle group? If the insertion bone moves toward the origination bone, how does it work with longissimus thoracis, that originates at L1-L5, and iliocostalis lumborum, that inserts at L1-L4? How are these muscles not in conflict when we move? Also, I assume that, even though the three muscles' three components are described separately for the purposes of anatomy, there is no way to move these muscles independently of one another. Can you talk about how these muscles work during movement? Thank you!
so the infraglenoid tubercle is medial to the inferior head of the humerus but would you say the triceps long head tendon length is pretty much all under the teres minor and then below that is where the triceps long head muscle is or both muscle and tendon are underneath teres minor area?
So the area we dig straight into our armpits like where wea apply deodorant will be the subscapularis muscle that is passing the glenoid fossa and humerus and below the coracoid and not the subscapularis fossa because that is way too medial right?
Thank you soo much 💝it's helped me a lot to clear my mind and easily able to understand anatomy of these muscle thank you soo much 💝💞 God bless you more n more ♥️🙏🏻
Hello sir, I have undergone ACL reconstruction using semitendinosus tendon as graft.. its been 8 months post op. I have complete stability but when knee is bent the tibia slides medially. Could it be because of the injured hamsting?
Nicely done. I'm a long practicing chiropractor/Applied Kinesiologist, and have been manual muscle testing for 38 years. You are so right -- the QL is very often depicted as being much more "quadralateral" in shape.. and is more often than not shown reaching to the tip of rib 12. Jusat as a crazy aside - I have found for years that an inhibited QL when tested supine is often abolished by an appropriate adjustment of occiput (usually, bu not always lateral on the side of weakness). Great channel. Kudos. Dr. J
I appreciated the comprehensive discussion of the popliteus. It would be advantageous if the video didn't switch between right and left legs as the views change and if there was greater contrast between the skeletal elements and the white background during demonstration when using the model.
Amazing , amazing , amazing.. thank you endlessly for this massive effort that is put into delivering such simplified information.. I could have failed my anatomy tests if this channel didn’t exist :’)
