1:33 is where the skip is and it works well! Much easier to play as the middle bit requires a lot of semiquaver runs in the left hand which is not easy for beginners

Geoffrey, many thanks for your kind comments. This organ resides at the town church of Bückeburg in Germany - albeit a relatively modern instrument built by Rudolf Janke c.1997, after the original organ was completely destroyed by fire in 1962. Best wishes, Aubrey
For an musical expression of the profoundest grief, I would say this aria, especially when sung, cannot be bettered. Anyone who thinks JS Bach was an old fuddy duddy should get a good recording of the St Matthew Passion and listen to it entirely, or better yet, go to a live performance. Nice organ rendition. Are you transcribing also Mache Dich Mein Herze Rein, another high point, for me, of this wonderfully moving Passion Music by Bach? Thank you for sharing.

J.-S. BACH turned this concerto into a keyboard concerto, with particularly fine ornamentation in the second movement. That's why you can now find MARCELLO's concerto for oboe with an "Urtext" by BACH. If you'd like to hear other ornamentation, don't hesitate.

I love your work Aubrey. Have you considered transcribing more Renaissance period pieces? Particularly the polyphony of Palestrina et al? May I suggest: O Magnum Mysterium (de Victoria), Ave Maria (Jacob Handl/de Victoria) or Allegri's Miserere?
Very much impressed by how organist moves this along, not playing as if it is a dirge, but with a sense of the "presence" of musical joy here and now in the depth of life.
