The crisis of knowledge is a problem for Religion, not for non-believers. Science is steadily undermining the basis for faith and that is a huge problem for all Religions. Saying that Atheists don't believe in anything is absurd. We simply don't waste our time on imaginary Gods. Look around you and see the misery and suffering caused by nature. Is this a God's cruel game or is it more rational to conclude that there is no guiding hand and things just happen because of physics?
@xppl8635

muslims are the founding fathers of sience. and the hurt you see around us is very often caused by humans. including natural disasters like wild fires etc.
@jakob2249
@jakob2249 6 лет назад
Actually, if you bother to use your intellect and look at Islam deeply, The Quran has more than 100 verses which speaks about science, many of which, scientists have only discovered recently, which has been in The Quran since 1400 years ago, another fact which proves that The Quran could not have been written by a human being. 2nd Life is a test for the hereafter (The next life) and we learn a great deal from suffering, on top of this, most if not all of the evil or bad thats on earth is caused by human beings anyway. 3rd Atheism is a fantasy, if you say its all because of physics, so, who created physics? Someone must have created it, it cant have come into existence by itself, this is why, even many scientists, due to what they have discovered, have come to the conclusion and been forced to say that there has to be a GOD, there has to be a creator.
@ehcelikok2267
@ehcelikok2267 4 года назад
Why did every single civilization have a religion? It is because the belief of God is innately part of our intellect, rationale, and spiritual being. Every book has an author. Every speech has an orator. And we have a creator, and He exists whether or not you accept belief in him.
@rogerfroud300
@rogerfroud300 4 года назад
@@ehcelikok2267 - Not so. Every Civilisation invented a religion because they had no science to inform them of the answers to the puzzles of their existance. People didn't know how natural disasters, disease, weather and anything else happened. It's hardly surprising that people dreamt up some scheme to explain those things. Humans naturally attribute events to intentional causes, so if your child dies you're cursed or punished for something you might have done. We're predisposed to make wrong inferences of causality and purpose. This religious world has no factual basis, and that's why Christianity in Europe is all but gone, and is finally in decline in the USA. Islam is more robust because of the insidious way it's tentacles grip the community through its system of mosques and the dire consequences by way of loss of family and community if you wish to leave. This is what makes it so dangerous. You simply can't state that "He exists" because you have absolutely zero evidence to corroborate that statement. If you want people to believe, then prove that a God exists. It's impossible to prove he doesn't, so the onus is on believers to show that he does. How hard can it be for a God to show himself? In the ancient times he was doing it all the time. Now we can fact check, he's strangely silent. I wonder why that is? Religion gives no advantages to those in this life, only empty promises about an imaginary afterlife. Praying does nothing, you don't do any better in life than non-believers. As many believers are dying of Covid 19 as non-believers. God clearly couldn't care less about his followers, if he existed that is.
@adeelali8417
@adeelali8417 4 года назад
The differences between believers and non believers is fundamentally that we have accepted God, not merely on a rational level, but in the Qalb (Heart). This is why dialogue between Atheists and Theists are unfruitful. We aren't playing on the mere level of rationality but deeper than that. You may call this blind trust, for us, it is ultimately divine love.

Salamo alykom IrishPharaoh , Thank you for the advice . I Did read it befor I used it, and I saw your point , but then I checked Ahmed Deedat book the Choice page 19 and there he mentiond a hebrew version. Considering surah 2 Al baqarah -79, for example , and the fact that I do not know hebrew, I decided to trust Ahmed Deedat understanding of it . For me the context of Isa 29 10-12, is similar to 62 Al Jumua'ah - 5 (note 5457, Abdoullah yusuf Ali translation)in the Quran, but I felt that Isa 29 - 12 was out of place (even though I can see it within the context you are refering to). Any way I do not need Isa - 12 to make my point , the foundation is in the Quran, for Unletterd prophet 7:157, 7:158. Ulettered people 62:2, 3:20 and of course in the famous Hadiths of the prophet (pbuh) telling us of how we will follow the ways of those that came before us. I believe if we can see our selves as God see us (the children of Adam) then we will see the history of any people as a possible history of ours had the circumstance been the same , which means that we can benefit from their experience, 4 Al Nisa' verse 1. Salam

Al salamo alykom The Quran was revealed to an illiterate people, living in the desert , with no history of reading and writing , and forgotten by history. It is amazing that the prophecy in the bible (Isa 29-12 )that told of the book being delivered to the unlearned , also told of the people, having the book and learning, as being unable to benefit from the book. The great testament to the power and miraculous nature of the Quran is that it was able to teach and transform an illiterate desert dwellers in a short time (23 years). If we can not learn from a book that taught and transformed an illiterate people then our crisis of knowledge is far worse than that of the blind people mentioned in the prophecy about the book being given to the unlearned. Allah (Al ilah (the god)as in one of the possible explanation of the origin of the word) (apbth) said that he will not guide one who is lying ingrate (Al zumer -3. Yusuf -38-103-106). I believe, that intellectual honesty and an apriciation of the power and significance of the knowledge in the Quran(evidenced by that great transformation event), is the main requirement that one must have before attempting to learn from the Quran. God instructed his Khalifa (every human being) to read the Quran and reflect on it. The means that God recognize in the Quran to the attainment of knowledge are looking at creation, studying history (Recent and ancient), and if you do not know ask those who do, BUT one can not surender his/her intellect to no creature, God's Khalifa (every human being) will come before God alone on judgment day . The same logic behind the time and effort that so many scholars put in defending aginst the bad influences of the prevailing culture on all aspects of life, specially on education, is not (that logic) applied to the bad influences of the prevailing culture (at the very critical moments of the early history of the Muslim community, when the effects of such influences did last for 1400 years) on all aspects of life, at the early history of the Muslim state. Ibin Abass said the tribe of Koraish will force you on the ways of Persia and Rome. It makes one wonder about the effects of the pulpit in the mosques being used (for sixty years) by the political authorities to spew ignorance (the word for insulting someone in arabic) against their dead political opponent,on the mental health and education of the average person, educators, institutions and different sects that were formed(for or against) in ignorance, and in hiding(meaning no healthy discussions to expose right from wrong) partly as a result of the weekly ignorance they were exposed to from such a central location in the community . The influence of the systems of education that were prevalent at the time (Byzantium and Persian ) should not be ignored, since it was designed to convince people of the superiority of their leaders and the inferiority of themselves( organized religion and education always serve those in power,a point emphasized in the Quran, since the well to do in every society always opposed the prophets). This influence is apparent in the respect and titles that people show and bestow on scholars and teachers, while at the same time ignorance is wide spread , people glorify scholars not knowledge. which makes one wonder where did that come from. Quran had effected most, the earliest believers . If we consider the odds they had to go against, then it will be easy to see that independent intellect and character are prerequisite. The Quran is a message for all creatures Yusuf-104. If God's Khalifa (every human being, believer or non believer ) read the Quran and reflect on it ,while at the same time learn about all creation,and history, then his or her chances of benefiting from the Quran are much better than if they surrender their intellect to someone or entity on the hope that maybe in 10 or 20 years they would learn somthing . For an example, as a proof just look at Egypt after 1400 years of Islam and mosques every where and milions of weekly sermons, supposedly teaching knowledge from a BOOK , yet illiteracy is rampant. I think it is more like a Pharonic system of education, rather than a system which asks people to sit and learn to read and write at the same time that they were poor ( they had to go to war in order retrieve some of their possessions lost in Makah). Please forgive any offense made by me if any. This is only an attempt to unerstand by sharing a thought. Al Salam alykom.

+mamer Salam Brother, I understand and agree with your points regarding understanding the Quran ourselves. I too feel we should understand the Quran also where as we may focus more on recitation even if we do not understand, but it should be a combination of both. One thing I did want to say though is, please stop quoting Isaiah 29:12 - It is not a prophecy of our prophet Muhammed SWS, and it is not a prophecy of the people in that era, If you read the whole Chapter you will see that clearly, even some great Islamic scholars I've listened to quote this at times, but it does not make any sense to refer this to our people. Peace be upon you all.

A lot of fascinating details presented here. I always wondered why Sherry and Shiraz sound a like--now I know why. I'm not sure if the business about Count Julian, his daughter, and King Roderic is strictly historical. Well presented none the less. The only thing I would really criticize is the title appearing on the screen. Andalusia is a very different reality from Al Andalus. Andalusia is all about gypsy girls, flamenco music, and Federico Garcia Lorca.. Al Andalus is about Al MonSur, the Abdul-Rahmans, Ibn Gabirol, Ibn Tufayl, Averroes, and their ilk.
