Ambos suenan bien la verdad estoy por comprar uno de los 2 pero creo q me inclino más por el austrian me a paresido menos áspero y brillante al menos es lo q escuche en mis sennheiser HD600 gracias por el video
The XLR sounds better but the USB is still really good. Glad I bought this mic as it's way better and cheaper than gaming headsets for recording audio.
I usually switch off the air conditioner and refrigerator when recording. But when I'm lazy, I use the C-Suite C-Vox Noise & Ambience Reduction plugin in my Universal Audio Apollo. Works very well, as long as the background noise is not too loud.
Fridge too if you're in a smaller place. I put my fridge on a smart plug so I can shut it off with my phone and set a timer to turn it back on automatically when I inevitably forget. One of the best ideas I ever had.
Loved this episode.. “welcome to the fiscally responsible, excel-certified” podcast. Keep up the great work Bandrew! -Randy, host of The Work With Purpose Podcast (WWPCast)
Shorts pay sometimes 100X less.. let us know if you find it's worth it. For me it doesn't make sense. I like your long form videos a lot more than your shorts. They like it because they have something to feed to endless scrollers, Vs. Someone actually searching for content.
I love how your shure sounds in this video, I can hardly hear the hiss. Can you please advise the best affordable audio interface for a shure SM7B & thank you in advance.
It has ruined RU-vid. I am selecting "don't recommend this channel" multiple times a day. Just flooded with garbage man... As time goes by I'm using less and less RU-vid... So they need to fix it or it will collapse.
The point of the lav mic is the user doesn't have to pay attention to where the mic is. The fact the sE7 sounds better when the user is in the optimal position is great, but only if the person is trained to use it correctly. If they aren't CONSISTENTLY paying attention to the mic position, that is a recipe for a really mediocre recording. Now compare the lav mic recording to a recording from the airpods pro mic - lol.
2:22 The very language you use "I made a mistake right here" shows how badly RU-vid has gaslighted all its creators. You didn't make mistake. You made something you thought was following the rules, but since RU-vid won't actually explain the rules you were unable to do so. RU-vid plays coy and won't give detailed explanation of the rules because to them everyone trying to follow rules is actually trying to circumvent them. The only mistake you made is being forced to use a platform that treats its creators like garbage. What actually happened is you tripped over a mysterious rule that nobody will explain to you and you have to guess what that rule is. Guessing wrong isn't a "mistake". I guarantee Disney doesn't have to go through this.
I think it would have been helpful to do a test in your untreated room which is more echoey. I'm not sure you pushed it hard enough into the worst case for a shotgun. You've got a lot of stuff in your studio that I'm sure breaks up the reverb. Based on my own tests, the interference is worst when the shotgun is getting reflections coming from all around of the source it is trying to isolate, and when the mic is far enough away from the source that it isn't way louder than the echoes. That being said, I've never heard more than a subtle difference. Another test that would be interesting would be a situation with a lot of ambient noise, like machine noise, coming from all directions, with the mic a few feet away from the source. That is supposed to be what shotguns are designed to do: cancelling out ambient noise coming from all directions to better isolate a specific source coming from one direction. Based on what I have heard, I generally choose SDCs for recording indoors, particularly if the room has a lot of reverb. I would use a shotgun if there was ambient noise coming from all directions. But I've never heard a huge difference, it's more of a guide than a rule. EDIT: One thing I'll add, though, is if a person was on a budget and to choose one or the other, I would recommend an SDC. They are less expensive, less bulky, and are more versatile.
Great comparison, thank you! The Sennheiser MKH-416 shotgun mic isolated better and sounded better. For talking head videos with relatively little movement, INCLUDING indoors, I think the shotgun, mounted above, just out of frame, pointed down toward the mouth, is just plain better.
Just an FYI, the diaphragm in a shotgun mic is at the back of the interference tube, not at the front of the mic like in an SDC. So by lining up the fronts of the mics, you put the diaphragm of the shotgun several inches further away from the sound source.
Oh yeah I know that and my initial thought was to align the capsules. But when I spoke to Sound Speeds he suggested the more accurate comparison would be edge to edge since that's how people are going to be using them. The person placing the mic will get the tip of the mic as close to frame as they can without it being in frame regardless of the mic type. So it's demonstrating how the mics would compare in a real world situation because no one will put 3 inches of a shotgun mic in frame just to get the capsule closer, and no one will put an SDC 3 inches further away just to match it to where a shotgun mic would be. So although this is true, I believe this comparison is a real world representation of what people would experience.
Yeah not my favorite either.. It's so hard to get an absolutely perfect video from the first try. Not sure about you, but it takes me 5-6 tries sometimes until I land on something I'm sure won't be disputed. ChatGPT does a pretty job at looking at scripts and figuring out where something may need to be explained better... It doesn't know it all though, and sometimes you can coax it to accept your original script.
I'm 2 weeks into a no-spend period.. I'll try to make it into a month. My longest time without an Amazon order for a long time. Great idea. Maybe I'll make it a 2 months, or more..
I agree 100% soulless. Far too many MACHINOfactured video's which use the adage why use two or three words when you can use twenty or thirty, mispronouncing words and names, and repeating whole sections of text, and displaying unrelated images, and often providing inaccurate or even completely wrong information.
Yup! It's terrible. And on social media, I've seen at least 5 "RU-vid advice account" advocating for people to start AI faceless channels because "you can easily make $10k/month!". These people are ruining the platform!
I usually refrain from disliking these videos, because I assume that any interaction will still push that video higher than not interacting at all. Does disliking really help to bury those video?
I'm not sure if it has a direct impact on harming the videos. I'd assume it does, but it may at the very list impact your personal recommendation algorithm to recommend similar content less.
I'm hoping they'll realize that error that they made to focus so heavily on legacy media. People loved RU-vid and came here over TV because it was passionate people talking about stuff they loved. Not some corporate sterile garbage.
yeah, its the same with google search results. as soon as you want to get info about anything with the slightest chance of you buying it you get bombarded with AI sites full of reflinks
after consulting An Ai site : Backwards Cap (Verse 1) Dad is eating chicken fat wearing a backwards cap, Flipping through the channels, nothing on the map. Late night sky, we're dreaming wide awake, Whispers in the darkness, what’s that noise we make? (Pre-Chorus) Counting stars, our secret spot, He said, “Son, there’s more than we thought.” A flash of green, a cosmic dance, We shared a laugh, we took a chance. (Chorus) Backwards cap, with eyes on the skies, Thinking ‘bout the aliens and their wild alibis. They’re out there flying, just like us, Searching for love, searching for trust. (Verse 2) Remember that night when we saw the lights? They twinkled like diamonds, oh, it felt so right. Dad said, “Look closer, it’s a UFO,” I felt my heart race, oh, how could I know? (Pre-Chorus) He pointed at the moon, said, “Just you wait, One day they’ll visit, it’ll be our fate.” We crafted stories of galaxies far, With his backwards cap, he became my star. (Chorus) Backwards cap, with eyes on the skies, Thinking ‘bout the aliens and their wild alibis. They’re out there flying, just like us, Searching for love, reaching for trust. (Bridge) Now I’m grown up, but I still believe, In the magic of the night, the dreams we weave. An alien friend, with their own backpack, Maybe they’re waiting, with a backwards cap. (Chorus) Backwards cap, with eyes on the skies, Thinking ‘bout the aliens and their wild alibis. They’re out there flying, just like us, Searching for love, searching for trust. (Outro) So here I am, under this starlit map, Feeling the echoes of that backwards cap. If they come down, I’ll be ready to chat, With a heart full of wonder and my own backwards cap.
Yes the color of the luxrul is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc ...
I try to take sleep very seriously, but my mind got the better of me & I opened up youtube to potentially procrastinate my bedtime (and I'm completely aware of what I'm doing..but your mind just justifies it's actions & well...)..... but then I saw this video in my feed so I guess it's just divine intervention at this point so... thanks Bandrew, I'm now turning off my computer :)
