that was awesome . First because you are so professional at your work but mill grain with power ! I am a retired jeweler and have never seen that . Great results on the procedure . The triangle shape is great for many situations . When working in the seventies at a primarily repair shop this setting was often seen in vintage pieces . Well done video , thanx
Huge disappointment for the money spent. Very untidy twisted looking result, some crimps do not hold, tried different types, all the same: rubbish tool
When I see a video that people are making mistakes with I contact them and hope that they will correct their mistake and not make it anymore yes you had a silver looking ring and you went through all the gold acids but you never tested for silver that ring could be silver but we'll never know because you never tested for it and you should have
Hi Danny, would you recommend any place in LA that I can get a reliable moissanite and for the price its worth genuine? I am not sure about authentication of the product? So please share if you have a place with tester that can show me the authenticity of it and the price for a moissanite earrings? Thanks
As a Jeweler what is your opinion on lab made diamonds? And what exactly are cvd and moissanite? I am asking because I am shopping around for a 2 in yellow gold and diamond cross. I came across a few different options for the stones and I know if I buy a piece with real diamonds that are decent quality I am guaranteed to lose money if I ever had to sell the piece for whatever reason..to be honest I never resold my jewelry and never plan to I just get discouraged to buy natural diamonds because of that loss. Just wanted to see if you think there is any other benefit to lab grown besides the price? Love your videos by the way
Another question I have is about the hand tools. How are they powered? Again I love watching Jewelery being made but have little to know experience and just like to learn about ...thanks again
This is really excellent work. thankyou .Hello from London, I'm learning techniques..do you have a video of making a millegrain edge setting? thanks gm
The only acid you need is 14k 18k 22k No professional uses platinum or silver acid. Scratch silver and use 18k it should turn a bluish white color and if you want to double check it. Take a small file and file a small nick in the band and drop 14k acid directly on the groove you just made and it will turn a milky white color. Now obviously you don't want to damage a piece of jewelry so the main thing before using acid. Look for a hallmark..silver will be 999,925,900,950,800,ster,sterling..ect. also silver is not magnetic but a lot of newer silver jewelry is rhodium plated which causes a slight magnetic reaction. Gold should never stick to a earth magnet. if you ever have questions feel free to call me..3027470944.
