@@barndog2145 yes there’s 2 different types you’ll need to cut some away plastic away back of the hole it’s relatively easy just to make it slide that little bit further in.
I got them from the salvage car years ago....; and I did almost forget it to remove them today...; because the arm rest goes again in annother mark 4..... :-)

I'm sorry for asking perhaps an obvious question, but I have seen 3 videos now and still do not know. I have a 2002 VW Cabrio which is what they call a MK3.5 model. What vehicle is the arm rest being pull off of? My model did not come w/ armrest and thought it could be retrofitted since it shares some of the newer model MK4 amenities.

dude... thank you so much for showing this in such detail. i spent all day trying to break through my firewall without drilling. after your video... 20 minutes to pull the cable through and rout it in the trip to the trunk. and another 15 minutes putting my dash back together. tomorrow i wire the right side and test the amp and settup. installing a tablet into my car is a big job, but rewarding.
