Nice video, well made. Nice birds you have there ! As @petercooper7956 instead of Single point without detection I also use C2 1x1 with detection. Works very well.
best or ....bit silly sometimes as to where they take up residence...also i have seen where the can take out 50cent piece size clumps of hair ..twice..both kids lost pgment to that area of hair when it finally grew back...dont mess with them when nesting. ..they even play dead or injured to distract you away from from their eggs..so thats smart i guess
i love Ibis..farmers friend, they aerate the ground ..we sometimes have at minimum 100 birds on our dam ,most times they're on a stop over snack break of yabbies and frogs or small fish. i hate hearing them called bin chooks
This fish is helping me sleep because of the water sounds and it’s so relaxing and my body finally settles down because I have adhd and I’m proud of it because nobody’s perfect
As a new photographer I really enjoyed and learned a lot from this video. Thank you very much for producing it. I have subscribed and look forward to more great videos.
For unrestricted views I use Auto AF with bird detection as Steve Perry recommends. I was sceptical as it will focus where the camera thinks it should, but it locks onto birds straight away and then you can engage 3D tracking if required. For single point I use Custom C2 1x1 with bird detection. When I need no bird detection I use single point from the Lfn-1 button, but this is rarely required. Great video, thanks.
Nice to watch another fellow Aussie birding RU-vidr. Some excellent tips thank you. I tend to use Single point (best for the birds in foliage as you say), then Wide area Large and 3D for the birds more out in the open.
Cool...I use a customized W-C 1 or 2 as a single point that does have bird eye detect as another option.. I put cycle through the settings on the video button...
Have you used adapted Canon EF zoom lenses on the OM1? If so how do they perform (with or without a TC)? I have a LUMIX G9 and 70-200mm f2.8L IS and 1.4TC. Obviously the G9 isn’t fantastic for AF and I only have a speed booster adapter, not a plain electronic / smart adapter. I’m interested to know how the PDAF MFT cameras perform with adapted lenses.
Great video boss straightforward explanation. But I already have far to many shots to wade through at 9 fps. I also recon I could and do get these shots with a prehistoric 850. But my images will of course be raw and at least of equal quality (some say better). The method I use is two eyes open. So the shot is set up and I then go to live view silent mode. Then I use a trigger release and a good old saying from my army days "watch and shoot" Yes on occasions I miss the first shot but hey we have to have something to come back for next time. If I set it to mode 2 I can get 30 fps jpeg! I guess the advantage of the Z9 and 8 is the focusing?
Cheers! Advantage of the Z8/9 is the focus and no blackout of the viewfinder when shooting at high speeds. But in the end it’s whatever works and lets you get the shot, even if it’s with “vintage” tech!
I like the review. I just ordered a 180-600. should be here in a couple days. What is your tripod set up? I am looking for something like that were a can just sit and snap shots. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Tripod I use is a Benro mach 3 carbon fibre and the gimbal head is the Benro GH5C carbon fibre. Also use a generic $10 camping chair lol.. Congrats on the 180-600!
I have a CANON 60D with an EFS 18-200 mm lens ! I’m in Ethiopia and I need your help to tell me if I can be able to use the adaptor for my gear ! Thanks in advance
Yes! You will need a 67mm reverse adapter ring for EF-Mount (canon cameras). You can google “FotodioX 67mm Reverse Mount Macro Adapter Ring for Canon EF-Mount” to give you an idea of what’s out there. Good luck!
Good vid, thanks. When using in-camera focus bracketing/stacking with flash, should I be using electronic or manual shutter? How does the flash keep up with the incremental bracketing shots? Many thanks in advance for your valued response.
I have this lens and most of the time it's blurry in most spots. I have gotten some good portrait shots though. Most stuff I see online is shilling this lens, probably because they're paid for it.
I am using Nikon Z6 with this lens to shoot a flying bee like this, but I have a hard time to get the focus right. It seems the auto focus is pretty slow, maybe because nikon z6?
I wanted the lens dimentions Length and Diameter, on Nikons website the say 85mm D x 140mm L are your measurements correct. I need these for a Macro Diffuser I'm ordering and they need to be spot on. Cheers
I stumbled across your tutorials on macro. My shots have been nothing short of poor... some of the tips you've given me have elevated my images instantly. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
