I am very happy for this young lady for winning an Olympic Gold in Paris 2024. She is highly revered by many, including US gymnasts. She's incredibly good and someone to look for in 2028.
Y’all forget Simone beat Rebacca with 3 gold medals and then claimed silver on an injured leg. Remember her crawling around the floor? #Stupid This is why I cringed when they bowed to her. Be friends, but not in the podium.

Wrong title! They don't upset each other! Quote the contrary! Simone has stated her admiration for Rebeca and how Rebeca makes her bring out the best in her al the time. They admire each other and have a respectful and friendly relation.
Listen, Rebecca was a brilliant gymnast before winning gold on the floor in Paris. But the American Press, provincial as it is, only gave in to acknowledge her skills because she broke Americans' expectation to see Simone winning gold. This is such a provincial, tacky mindset. Simone Biles will always be a benchmark no matter when she retires. But Simone is far more than a fabricated unbeatable superhero as Americans yearn to categorize her.
Biles asked her prior to that if she was going to perform a certain move. Rebecca answered "I don't know". Then Rebecca told some magazine "She plays with her weapons, I play with mine". It appears that they talk to each other, and in doing so, they also try to extract information about each other's moves. This is insane. We're talking about HIGH DIPLOMACY here... lol
Those medals ARE sooo celebrantes for all the brazilians because we know she was raised for a single mother, who raised 8 kids, working as house maid. Thats the reality of millions of people in Brazil, where there's no good support (or the most there's no any support) for the athletes, so she gives hope for all of us.
Rebeca is a goat herself, i still cant believe she really challenge simone biles this olympics! She killed it, she is kind, beautiful, she has excelent form and technique, she is strong, she really has it all. I hope she sticks a little longer
In Brasil some of us make jokes with Simone or create rivalry... But she is amazing. Rebecca, Simone, Flávia, Júlia, they are all great and nice people, at least in the athletic world ❤❤❤❤❤️
I have been following Rebeca's career since Rio. As a latin American, seeing a Black Latin American be so dominant in the this sport is incredible. Her and Simone have so much respect for each other as well.
I saw that round, Rebecca Andrade deserved it, no question. Simone Biles is OLD. Yea, she can still move, but her day in the sun in regards to gymnastics has passed. Chiles would have deserved her place on the podium. Look at Biles face after she finished her routine, it's a tell-all, she knows she effed up majorly, and if it wouldn't be for her name and list of medals, a thing that matters for advertising, hence the sport's popularity, she would have placed somewhere between 5 and 6th. Yes, what she did was difficult. But she got out of the damn carpet a few times and she was about a s graciuos as a 2 ton brick.
Simone didn’t win the gold because of penalties and not because Andrade was a better gymnast. It speaks volume and loud about the difference between the two.
@Science of Winning I have this to say. There are people posting on your board how horrible and ungraceful Simone and Jordan are, but you leave their posts up. However, when I call these posters on their poor behavior, you take my post down because I told the truth about how Romania and Russia got their gymnasts to be so "graceful and perfect" through a history of physical and mental abuse with one coach unaliving one of his young charge in Romania. When I point out the racism and anti-LGBTQA sentiments of the last three decades done by the Italian gymnasts, their association, and women boxing teams you also take that down. So my question to you is, "What do you stand for?" Free speech is only allowed when it's cutting someone down, but not to point out the history of abuse and racism and that people learn hurtful behaviors and abuse from their elders? That posters have to listen and read how a mainly white audience disrespects gymnasts of color, but fans of the Black and Brown gymnasts are not allowed to defend against such remarks or tell certain truth is hypocrisy at its finest. You have a choice! Either take down all hateful statements so people like me won't have to call these haters out or leave what I said to the haters up. It can't be that Romania is allowed to bash the competition while they and we stay silent. It doesn't work that way anymore! People of color are whites equals and deserve the same respect that whites get. It can be agreed that the current situation is an issue brought about by the judges who were negligent in their duties and not by the gymnasts who are the victims of the judges' over site!

The media and people created narrative to pushing people against each other when in reality is not real. Simone Biles is great and in one of interviews she feels insecure with Rebecca coming closer in the podium during these years. This pressure is much more because people outside put the as rivals. Of course one days other ginastics will be great too. However what this girl did is already historic is done she is great. She not need be worried about other Ginastics about "Rivality " she needs enjoy more the sports as many other athletes. Okay dude, I know you did this video on the best of intentions (probably), but as a brazilian I will have to say something. "Unexpected challenge", "little did they (audience) know", like what??? You say it like Rebeca wasn't a literal Olympic champion before Paris, like she is somehow new to this or something. We KNEW she had a chance, we believed in her and cheered for her during every single competition she was in. Since the begining of this Olympics we knew for SURE that she could win the gold medal, because even with Biles talent, we trusted in Rebeca's work. Sometimes I feel that US people are so caught up in this "highness" they think they have above other countries that they forget we also have talented people.
Rebecca was born in Guarulhos, a difficult childhood. Her trip to the social project where she took her first steps in gymnastics was quite a struggle. Her life story could easily become a Hollywood movie. She is capable of anything, of beating whoever she needs to, include the best gymast of history
When she was very young, there was a time her family didn't have money for her take a bus to the gym, so her brother and herself walked one hour to go there then more an hour to go back home. Three major cirurgy in the same place. Now 4 olympic medals in Paris 2024

She didn't Upset Simone Biles, Simone got a lower score then she usually does, below 15 and she normally is 14.8? Rebeca Andrade did not even score 15 but had the highest score!
What do you mean by Grace exactly? Simone has been nothing but supportive too Rebecca and that’s true grace. I’m not even American but Simone literally has it hence why she’s the greatest gymnast of all time. You can support Rebecca without being odd. The sportsman ship in women’s gymnastics was so beautiful to witness, hate to see it get murky because of people.

It was a beautiful way to say goodbye to Rebeca's floor career. She stated after her all-around silver (before the floor final) that she'll not longer be competing on the all-around and floor after the Paris Olympics. The ACLs and the toll it takes on her body is too much. She said she'll keep doing the vault, and might do the beam and asymmetric bars if the team needs her, but she'll no longer compete on the floor. I was so happy she got the gold on her final floor competition.
After Rebeca's gold medal, the Hypolito Institute (the biggest nonprofit gymnastics school in Brazil, founded by Olympic gymnast Diego Hypolito) divulged that the search for classes grew so much they had to put up a waitlist. Journalists were calling it the Rebeca Effect. She's amazing <3
In Brazil this rivalry/friendship became a bunch of memes haha, because Simone is very intense and Rebeca is quite chill and neither can speak the other language so when you see their interviews side to side and you understand their languages is hilarious. Like Simone will be staring intesily at the points or something and someone asked Rebeca what she focuss during everything and she just say "nothing, I can't see nothing because I'm without my glasses and my eye sign is terrible", or when they asked what she was thinking and she answered that she was really into cooking so she was trying to remember the recipe she saw somewhere to try to cook after the Olympics are done and she can eat everything. Or all the times Simone goes talk to her and she just smile and nod because she can't speak english hahaha.
Rebecca speaks English. She has talked to Simone many times. She simply does not give interviews in English because she prefers to speak her native language, mine too, to express herself with fluidity.
the silver and Bronze medalist have always done something to congratulate the Gold Medalist in the world Championships or Olympic games its nothing new oh and considering Simone and Rebecca only finished .033 apart in scores in the Floor exercise final and have respected each other for years the congratulations was beautiful as someone who has been watching Gymnastics for more than 3 decades when the old Soviet Union Romania US and China were the dominant four countries in the Olympics and you had Gymnasts like Svetlana Boginskaya Shannon Miller Lavinia Milosovici etc. competing
I am a brazilian proud of Rebeca, not only the gymnast she is, but the sweet person we now have the oportunity to know. I also love to watch to Simone doing everything she does on a legendary level kk, she is FANTASTIC. They both had a great time this olympics and respect each other and that's the prettiest thing of it all.
