I have the same Samsung oven! It is only 6 years old and the heat escapes from the top of the oven door. It will not hold temperature. If I hold the oven door closed it will heat up, but as soon as I let go you can actually hear the heat escaping. Called a repairman and was told it needs door hinges and door hinge receivers. The cost is $1,000.00 just for parts!! And it may just need a new oven door, too. I called Samsung twice and they will not help at all!! I am very frustrated with this company. Love the style of the oven, but not with Samsung!
My oven does the same thing but I’ve found that it’s only after the door is opened. I figured out that after I preheat it and put my food in it, if I push Stop/End and then just reset it that it will heat back up to the set temperature and hold it until the door is opened again.
I'm about to take delivery of a really nice 2005 Passat wagon. I didn't even know the B5.5 had "city lights", so this is something I'll have to look for. My goal with this car will be to have one that's as close to new as possible, and having all the lights working is part of that. Thanks for posting this.
Add me to the list. I have a repair plan and they can't fix it. I am scheduling one more repair after 6 years of just working around the issue. If they can't fix it it's gone. Do I trust LG now for a new one?
Hello Mark, I am speaking to you from the future LOL, I have the same issue....I have replaced the heating diode, but it still fails to maintain set temp. Did you ever figure out the issue? Please and thank you!
Nope, never have. I just reset the oven temp from time to time just to be sure it's still working. Most of the boards and the thermocouple were replaced and it didn't help. My guess is the the new main board that was installed was defective just like the original one. Samsung's of no help and I'm not going to spend more money on the off chance that I get a good board. I'll just buy a new oven from a different manufacturer at some point.
Unfortunately, no. And Samsung was of no help. They closed my ticket and stopped returning my calls. I did find that if I hit Bake and then reset the temp from time to time, it helps to kick it back into heating up the oven again. It doesn't always have the issue, either. It's fairly random. 🤷♂
I have a similar issue on a brand-new unit. After reading @MyOtherNewName's reply I went over and checked if all settings do it. The answer is "NO." It seems that only convection modes automatically reduce the temps by exactly 25°. In theory it makes sense because convection baking generally requires lower temps. But I would appreciate it if Samsung trusted me to know what we really want... Afterall, we did go out and get a Samsung product over another manufacturer. 😊
So that's what they are called? I couldn't find a name for that bulb and I needed to replace it. Can you pull it out by pulling on the wires or did you have to grab a part of the housing to do it? That looks fairly easy. So how did you get it back in? Thank you for sharing.
I did pull on the wires, but gently . Putting it back in is a little tricky, but a bit easier than getting it out. You just have to line it up with your fingers. Not much help, but it's hard to explain. You'll figure it out if you haven't already :)
Big help thanks!!! only thing you didn’t mention is to get bulbs out quarter turn and they detach and to put in new ones little finicky but only goes one way but guessing this stuff is common knowledge
Mine wasn't easy to get out. I really had to twist my hand around to get it. I'd be carefully pulling on the wires, though. It could pull them right out. if you could get something like channel locks into the space, that might help. Don't squeeze to hard, though. What I did was just wiggled it a bit until it eventually came out. Wish I could be more help. Good luck.
@@ohgeez9971 thanks for the reply. I figured it would be a rough job. I wish they didn't make it soo hard to maintenance your own vehicle. I know it's for profit
How did you come up with the name city lights? What is their purpose if they are so low intensity? Are they supposed to be like parking lights only used while parked still?
Your vid does help! Man, I fought with the bulb on the driver’s side. I thought it was a clockwise or counterclockwise turn! Thanks for showing how it’s done👍🏻
I pulled hard asf on my 2003 B5.5 Passat city light and it didn’t budge..What the hell was VW thinking when the put that bulb way up there..fuck sake. The rear coolant flange was easier to change than this bulb.
thank you for the video...i have like you in the middle 2 empty hole...are they unuseful ? because im wondering when i park where is my white light reverse one ? thank you
has anyone found a video on how to replace the entire housing [driver's side] on a b5.5 wagon (2002 passat wagon]? someone hit it and cracked it while my car was parked and the it now needs to be replaced; thanks in advance!!
I change my tail light and it turn on, but now when I put in place it doesn't work anymore the regular light on top and bottom. the brake work and the turning light does well as well but not the regular, can you help me out oh any guy does not what wrong oh happen
Mario Flores it's hard to troubleshoot something like this over RU-vid. if you're still having the issue I'd recommend you pull it back out and make sure the bulb is good, that it's making good contact, and that you inserted it correctly (pushed in and twisted)
Great description and video. Helped me a lot, just what I was looking for. I had to replace the same bulb, and I paid $4.99 for a 2-pack at O'Reilly's. The old, original bulb was bulb #1122, and the Sylvania 7225LL is replacement for the 1122.
