Hi Mark, i want to breed black skirt widow Tetras, do i have to seperate the Males from the females first? I have them together in the Same Tank, Just Like you. I have used rainwater to lower the ph. The water is really dark, i can't See the eggs. Which temperature are you using? Can i sent you a Video of my breeding Intention ? Thank you your Video! Greetings
Mark I just wanted to say well down on all the videos you make . I am a bit like you I have always had fish . Since I was a little kid and I am now 55 . Thank you for the videos mark . You can see your like me I get up each day talk to my fish . I used to do marine tanks a corals and stuff I do think alot of people get that you have to feed the corals . . . But these days just keeping tropical and a few pearl scale goldfish who always greet me each day . They are more really pets than just fish they always have been . The world needs more good people like you mark I'll say that . Keep up the good work . I find myself at night just watching your videos on my big TV . Very good to watch thank you bud . Hope all the fishes are doing ok . Kind regards Ollie .... God I think back over the years and I have lost a few girlfriends to fish keeping but hey mark I don't think they really get it . I think some fish are more like pets . And I have had most fish . But I am going to have a go at breeding some cardinal tetras for my main tank . And I think my filament barbs are going to breed as I watch them alot . Got to love fish keeping mark . But it's like you say go to the shops and find the fish as I did find a nice paired up corys as you could see they where already paired up . And feed them up and they had a few babys .so happy days so I think I have caught the bug again and may try and breed a few different fish . It's good to care for the little creatures of this planet . Great hobby . Happy days . I used to love my marine fish Coby going around the tank collecting stuff to take into his house . Some fish are more than just fish . 😊
i notice that there are so tiny whites spots on your tank walls can you please tell me what this is because I had a few on my tank. nothing in the tank but shrimp.
Hey man, I miss your video’s. I was there when you started and have come back multiple times. Today I wanted to see you breed the pygmy corys again since mine are at breeding size now. Thanks for the tons of information!
So interesting thank you so much 😀 I accidentally bred my fancy guppy with one of my endless and dont know what they are going to look like when they are older. But hopefully I can expect something similar to yours!
Love is in the air. I've watch this video so many times in the last 3 years sipping on coffee ☕️ and watching my glo tetras breed. Thank you Mark for the hints.
You don't really need a heater in your pond for White Clouds. Those cheeky little rippers can even handle it when the pond is iced over. Tough little blokes!
If you have a large plastic (syringe) barrel, fill it one third full of freeze dried bloodworm add 3 or 4 drops of water then place your thumb over the end and pull the plunger back hey presto instant rehydrated bloodworm with much better nutrition than frozen .Maybe try placing a large plastic tub outside full of water with the chlorine and more importantly chlormomins removed seed the tub with daphnia (water fleas) and a handfull of horse, sheep or rabbit dung and after a week or so use a small aquarium net to scoop out some of the lovely free live food. Just remember to add a bit of pooh every week or so and rinse the fleas before feeding. Your fish will be in awesome condition and your water quality will be much better than when you fed processed food. Try it for yourself.
New disco owner here,,so appreciate your video,, just a little word of warning when using silicone on copper wires,,,, make sure you use neutral curing silicone,,,,, the cheap normal stuff I used before on a van bodge ,had acetic acid and corroded the wire !! so I made a swap to non acetic..
Yours is the very first channel I’ve subscribed to. You get right to the point, you answer all my questions without my asking and you’re just an all around good guy who knows fish. Thanks for your great videos.
Hey Mark. I used to watch all your videos 4-5 years ago and used many of your methods to breed fish. Starting 10 small tanks again and enjoying your videos once again. Thanks!!! Kevin. South Africa
Did you ever figure out what the sideways swimming was? I'm having the same issue with mine but it's ALL the fish, not just the tetras. It only happens when they're near the sides of the tank and it's always the same angle for every fish....
I’ve seen three of my females loaded with eggs and I’ve seen them do that lil shimmer dance and drop eggs with the males but I just can’t get them to stay healthy because they always either turn white or grow mould and I’m not sure if the eggs are even for tile 🤦🏽♂️ not sure if I need to super clean the tanks at this point
