The npm docs suggest to use nvm (node version manager) to get around the 'EACCES permission denied' for squarespace dev server. What's odd is that it tells you on npm docs: "You do not need to remove your current version of npm or Node.js before installing a node version manager." I spoke with a friend and he told me this was not the case. Just thought I would drop this info here incase anybody else is trying this method.

For some reason, this feature was removed in 7.1. I'm new to Squarespace and have been spending the last hour trying to figure out how to switch to dev mode. Where on earth did they hide it now or why remove it!!? I feel like I am missing something super obvious in UI. Any response here would be appreciated. Looks like this only works on V7, so can I switch from 7.1 to 7? Thanks
