This is so true. My mom constantly tells me that i’m not actually autistic because “i can hide it”💀 she also told me that i can “control it” because my spectrum isn’t that severe. She’s a 50 year old grown woman telling me that. Like how can you be so uneducated
Now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the later chart doesn't invalidate the former. The first one simply shows the degree of difference compared to a neurotypical person and the second chart breaks down what those differences are.
not everything is autistic. you can have hobbies and interests and like to talk about them without being autistic. You can prefer certain types of fabrics or foods and not be autistic. That's like saying anyone with an explosive temper is bipolar when there's so much more to having bipolar than losing my temper. Sometimes people just lack emotional control, but that doesn't mean they're bipolar.
