Though there have been many fine musical talents that have tragically passed at a young age, I have always found Tommy's departure particularly sad. He was such a great musician who left such a fine legacy in his work with Spectrum, The James Gang, Deep Purple plus his solo albums.
Truly a wonderful band and song. The musicianship is off the Charts. Keyboard player plays with Tedeschi Trucks Band current line up if you're familiar with. Cheers 😎
The way everything resolves together, while being sophisticated feels so good. It’s like a 3D puzzle being solved with an ooze of cool - just the greatest.
I've always loved this song since I first heard it in the early 70's in Vermont. As fate would have it I moved to California and worked in Montecito at a pet hospital and got acquainted with Moose and Duke, the Loggins dogs. Such a great guy and animal lover.
Love this whole album and I was honored to have the fortune of meeting Kenny and told him Mother Lode is my favorite album. Jim Messina is an awesome musician! Love listening to the studio version with headphones.
The video went away for a few years. Glad it is back. I think this is Neil's best rendition of this song. The Best starts right when the credits start rolling 5:10ish. Modern classical music. This is my favorite Neil Young song.
Frank "Poncho" Sampedro (born Manuel Francisco Sampedro de Victoria, February 25, 1949) is an American retired guitarist and member of the rock band Crazy Horse, known mainly for his longtime collaboration with singer-songwriter Neil Young. Sampedro has played and recorded with Young in many other configurations aside from Crazy Horse and earned co-writing credits on several Young songs. Out of all Young's musical collaborators (aside from the late pedal steel guitarist Ben Keith), Sampedro has perhaps proven the most adept at working with the mercurial artist.[1]
Donald Fagen is the white, sighted version of Ray Charles. I swear, he models his stage presence after Ray Charles. hehe. I have always thougth that. Just watch him. He moves like a blind man up there.
I went to every Red Rocks show until 2021. I was living in Aspen and it was a June pilgrimage. They know the place they are playing is sacred and it shows. Thank you
It's very satisfying to hear how articulate and intelligent these guys were. They weren't all full of themselves and had excellent vocabularies as as well.
Kinda feel bad for security. They get closer to the stage than anybody and hear the best music, but can’t turn around and look at the band for a whole song
I discovered Tommy’s music late last year and I’ve been diving into everything he’s been a part of. I’ve become a big fan of his. Such a shame there’s not much video of his live performances, let alone recordings of his live performances in general. He had a lot of originality and style as well.
Agree very much.. This is a buddy of mine. He has played with a Variety of Tommy's band mates and hung in the Boulder area. Michael Reese has played the Tommy Bolin Tribute a number of times. Here he covers Jeff Beck. Enjoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QCruxAiXIQQ.htmlfeature=shared
So beautiful. I don't understand people who don't appreciate nature and wildlife. This is what I think about and pray for her every time there's high winds, a hail storm, fire, flood, earthquakes, natural disasters. These beautiful creatures don't have a weather app. We must try to protect all that we can, especially those in our care.
@@justsomeguy820 yes I really love the Motherload album. It's my favorite. Do you ever noticed that when you listen to something you remember what other albums came out with it, at that time, years ago? Song memories bring up more song memories.
