Hi and welcome to the Makers HQ! Our names are Tatiana and Angel and we are a married couple. We are artists who recently moved to Buenos Aires and now we've decided to buy a heat press to launch a print and sublimation business. Since we have no experience working with sublimation (but Tatiana did work with heat transfers in the past and we've both done silk screening over the years) we have decided to test and document different materials and blanks in order to see which products we like to work with. If you're in the process of building your own product-based business, we will be giving sublimation tips and tricks as we learn (and well be spending cash on samples so you don't have to). If you find our information interesting and helpful, please like and subscribe today!
Hi! We have been using the lighters with our gas stove for the past year and they still look great! The prints are bright and haven't faded at all and the stickers stayed
It's a bit hard to get bright colors but I tried it at the highest temperature of my iron and it seemed to work, you would just have to test your temperature, pressure, etc. Make sure to cover your table or board so it doesn't get stained and make sure to put a paper on top of the bag to stop it from melting on your iron
We bought this brand in Argentina, but I would try this one from Amazon www.amazon.com/Minwax-63333444-Polycrylic-Protective-Finish/dp/B000C02AO2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2RYAV4TLI9LFG&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.31II8V1l-mWBJ_tqc5R9OQ.00qL66YzEk95k0racAoNJ4dDejb5PZuiX5LxW13ive8&dib_tag=se&keywords=polycrylic%2Bfor%2Bsublimation&qid=1718247397&sprefix=%2Caps%2C192&sr=8-1&th=1
Nice. I think i know exactly where this can make sense. You could put this on a shop's glass doors and panels to create sort of a one-way see-through effect. I'm going to give it a try.
HI! For our brand of polycrylic we have to let it dry for 24hrs. We order our sublimation sheets from our local printer since we haven't invested in a sublimation printer yet, so I don't know which brand she uses!
Yes, I've watched that video.I've been watching your videos. But cotton and paper have a different rate of absorption. The materials are just as important as a substrate. For instance, all wood looks almost identical.Except for slight shades until you add a stain. Some woods absorb it better than others. But I am enjoying your journey and watching you grow as channel.
Yes you are right, we did that for the sublimation spray on cotton video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2pN7ftHfHHY.html but this time around we just wanted to see it it works on paper. Thank you for your comment!! 🙌
I have recently made these napkins. If you put a half sheet of paper between the ply it will not bleed through hence no more unfolding the napkin. Really workd!
@@themakershqwhat software did you use to make the measurements and uploading your pictures? Everyone uses cricuit design space im looking for alternatives! Thank you ❤
@@clovervenegas we use Photoshop because we both have graphic backgrounds but I know that you could also use Canva if you want a simple way to upload and size!
Hi! We got it from a neighborhood shop, but the closest one I saw to them is here this one www.amazon.com/Washable-Placemats-Resistant-Rectangle-Waterproof/dp/B0CYH9PXRL/ref=sr_1_26?crid=2EE9JDS3FQIOX&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.A_6hczVHxzMYxVgLZKEOyFRa68WF73DR8RUJ4qONw5KL1K5nRGFrDYayT3l9xw2kWfGFMwBEQwXiDzwoVJ31vz3thDpH7xiQCyWtp4AyS57y5z3Vm0BLJ8yqtf0gBCmPFeaEN2SDdBeynwffmhZdvP9DXkQPtcQD5vDayhbdSdsoljcn1J4wBu4CQgVTZhvzFFvi3NXmwk9q5EaaS0IuZGl77uiAb4b4orJs0MDe6CP0I_kZ2s5ZOWq5ol87czjprPazESpkqORLU9UXarhpOHbuyGLStO9qjzA6Kz01r4U.vY2HLgPl7UrXXXDSkcteBHdmgP7Fy3ZJd7N76Jkpfvo&dib_tag=se&keywords=faux+leather+placemat&qid=1711238362&sprefix=faux+leather+placemat%2Caps%2C292&sr=8-26 Hope that helps!
Oh I'm sorry about that! It was one of our first videos so we weren't that good with music yet! We'll be doing another paper bag video at some point, hopefully that will be more helpful!
It was a nice video. It was just hard to hear because I typically watch RU-vid with earbuds and all the videos with music playing when someone is talking seems to be amplified. So I took the earbuds out and still had a hard time hearing your voices. Just letting you know from the receiver end of your video. But really did enjoy watching.
Have you ended up trying gesso coated canvas you mentioned? I just got some hard canvases at Hobby Lobby some are fir watercolors and are acrylic primed and a couple are wood coated with gesso... but a on a pricy side so I don't want to waste them. But I kind of had the same idea as you about acrylic and thought I'd try it
Hi! Ok so yes I tried it but it had mixed results 1. Putting 1-2 thin coats of polycrylic first yields best results. I think that would work beautifully with your wood pieces 2. Acrylic primed actually also worked well but I found the result a bit shiny Hope that helps!
Hi! 1. Sublimation paper with sublimation ink for the actual design 2. The HTV is Sublimation Adhesive Vinyl. You can find sheets here www.heattransferwarehouse.com/sublimation-adhesive-vinyl-sticker-sheets/
Sorry for the late reply! Regular sublimation paper and ink works perfectly! We get all our sublimation paper printed by our neighborhood company but if you don't have a printer, we know people who have used custom sublimation printing companies on etsy and the work turned out great! Hope that helps!
If it gets frosty next time they also have a polish for The type of plastic. You both seemed little disappointed on the outcome. I'm glad the Asotone was able to help. Keep the content come in loving it.
Hi! Sorry for the late reply! We found the boxes at our neighborhood craft stores! If you are in the US or Canada, you can find similar boxes at Michaels or at your local cake supply store! Hope that helps!
Not sure if anyone caught your reference to using wax paper to cover your project and machine it’s not wax paper you want to use (that would melt) but parchment paper
