Haven't tried it yet but it would be difficult to tell. Different models / different brands could be different on how they handle sizing.

Great video loved how you showed the details of the midfoot width VS the toe box. I have jammed toes from years of using Nike so this is very helpful to me thank you.

Hi from Colombia, I am interested in this shoe and the deviate nitro 1 or NB2 because I like its colors and design, they are also in a very good promotion, I would like to know which of the two more advice to accompany with a triumph 20( and the GR3 are comfortable? ), thanks.

You are spot on. I tried wide 10 and it was tight on the mid foot. And the 10.5 regular felt better. And I have wide feet.

This was such a good review. I'm more educated now, but also more confused. I'm new to running and naturally I'm working my way up to longer and longer runs. I'm torn between getting helpful shoes like these ones to help me add the miles at nice, easy paces or something like Altra to let me do that more naturally. I thought perhaps these would be good for the longer slower runs, and something like Rivera 2s for the shorter, quicker runs. Any help is appreciated.

12:20 for 1.5 mile Monday, after a foot injury. I was rather pleased giving I wasn't wearing my running shoes and effort was maybe 7.5/8 perhaps. That said, Im not sure how much faster I'd have been. ... Which brings me your video topic: if you had a better (not top tier) but modern running shoes eg. Pegasus, ultra boost, novablast etc...how much difference would the time be, maybe 20-30sec in a mile, giving the same effort? Fwiw, I'm a lightweight and noncompetitive...thus, I don't put much into "faster" or "lighter" or rockered shoes. Fit, comfort, $ and looks...I do care😉 fyi I did have my 5kpb in old Asics tigers looong ago😆

I have been running in these super shoes, and I felt like my legs were actually getting weaker. The shoes were doing too much of the work. After a 100miles on the Adizero Prime X Strung, I reverted back to barefoot running. And holy crap, my calve muscles are so sore even after a month. So what I've been doing is 50% barefoot 50% zero drop but cushioned shoes. To strengthen my lower legs and feet. I've also changed my routine in the gym to accommodate for this. And I'm now only using my super shoes for race day.
@legswillmove
@legswillmove Год назад
I've heard from a few different people that they feel like they miss out on a lot of training benefits in these super shoes we have now. I'm comfortable with just having fun in them from time to time and otherwise just saving them for race day.

I don't have max stacked shoes simply bc I don't like the look. Plus, I'm a light weight relatively. I have an older clifton and 1080v11...they are ok looking imo. Anything more stacked is a no go imo no matter how they good feel eg. More V3/4, Superblast, Hoka Bondi, various Adidas platform looking shoes🤭. That said, if I were a heavy runner and didn't have 20+ years of minimalist shoes bias (looks aesthetic)...I would likely buy a More V3/4. Fwiw Im not competitive (don't race) and don't run longer than a half...Rebel v2❤️ is enough for me. Actually, the Speed 3 looks quite sexy💋
@rualablhor
@rualablhor Год назад
Wow, I didn't realize some are that much against minimalist shoes. Fwiw I have been wearing skate shoes (zero drop, no cushioned fyi) since the mid 90's, mostly Vans and Etnies. In the late 90's...I started to wear NB and Merrell minimalist shoes...yes, so well over 20 years. I never had any problems walking or running in them although my long runs topped out at 10miles. Mostly, my runs are 3-5miles, long runs now are 6-8. I wear running shoes with various cushioned and drops up to 10mm. The only problem came were when I ran two long runs recently in a rockered style 10mm drop relatively firm shoes fwiw. My front/mid foot felt pain, then tighten and went numb altogether. Between the two long runs, I ran twice with other shoes...only after the second long run did it really started to feel painful enough where I had to stop running... Again, I'm not pro minimalist...they just never gave me problems. And I have various running shoes...and I didn't have much problem until the said recent occurrence. My running shoes are mostly 4-8mm range fwiw.

@@legswillmove Definitely, you should do your own research. Imo it's very off puting to be only pro certain tribe and cast off other tribes. It reminds me of the vegan or "plant based" crowd vs. keto, carnivore crowd smh. Often times, I don't even call myself a "runner" although I run...just not long distances. Let us know your findings, peace out!

Naturally I think we all need a sneaker with a less narrow center that allow our feet the space to expand. Working out my feet and hand swell a bit and the shoe feels a tad too tight. I bought the wide and it really helped Do you think some shoes are made more for aesthetics than function?

I appreciate the video, and I agree with your take fwiw. I would add that there are degrees (ie. aggressiveness) of toe spring. Id suggest wearing shoes with different cushion, drop, toe spring and find what works for you as an individual. And I would only suggest not going extreme from one end to the other, in a short time, esp for, say, a longer tempo run. I find that I'm ok with most running shoes, on most runs...
