The Barnum Museum, located in Bridgeport Connecticut, remains true to P.T. Barnum's Mission of Inspiring curiosity, creativity, and confidence through instructive entertainment as one of the nation's longest ongoing museums.
Families from all over have experienced a sense of wonder, curiosity, surprise, and enrichment by visiting the Museum for over a century!
On the part of the animals: The animals, which had been exploited and mistreated for years, could not be released back into the wild after Adams' death and a notary commissioned to do so tried to rehouse the animals. If the animals could not have been rehomed, they would certainly have been killed. Some of the bears were sent to Carl Hagenbeck in Hamburg. Seizing wild animals is always problematic: ‘A fat animal is a dead animal’
You mean I watched that whole thing, and no handstand? Not even a cartwheel? Aw, man! ;-) Cool video as always, not sure I'd have the guts to put my mug on a check...
This video was extremely helpful because I have a school assignment and I have to write a 10 page essay on the history of clowns, it’s part of my Theatre class and this video was extremely helpful, Thank you to the Barnum Museum, and to Dr. Daryn Reyman for giving us a bit of history behind clowns. Part 2 was very helpful as well.

That’s so cool!! My daughter was a circus performer (german wheel, unicycle, wire walking) with Circus Juventas in the Twin Cities, MN One of her coaches (Gemma Kirby) worked with the Big Apple Circus being shot out of a cannon. Circus is a whole different world❤️
You mean to tell me that I have to inform my daughter that Unicorns are not...REAL? Oh boy, that's gonna be a fun one. That said, I think the guy who did the taxidermy on the lion had actually seen one before, thought they were scary, and decided to make something more family friendly. Poor fella! 🙂
@@darynreyman-lock7880 Ah, well, that at least leaves me with the mystical and magical options to explore. Appreciate you leaving me a small glimmer of hope (even if you took all the fairy dust! P.S., if Barnum has any in the collection I'm running short....)
@@jasonblair393 Unfortunately all our fairy dust is collections material and 150 years old which means we have to wear gloves and masks as arsenic was originally used in its production. But craft stores sell a good facsimile!
