The Channel is a mix of different videos, rail fanning, model building, auto mechanics, Scouts and traffic signals. I don't claim to be an expert in anything, but perhaps, one of these videos may be of assistance to someone, sometime. Perhaps, they will provide entertainment, either way, I hope you enjoy. As for the name "Signal Man" I am a fan of Dickens, but was unaware of the character.
you guys took apart WAY more than you need to. Just remove the lower control arm bolt that connects it to the body instead of the sway bar, upper arm, trailing arm and caliper.
I used to get on & off Amtrak here to visit my Mom & Grandparents in Florida. This was the closest that you could get by Train to Gainesville which is a little over 14 miles. It's a shame that it's no longer a Passenger Station anymore. I believe it's been that way since around 2005. Back in the 70's & 80's you would see Seaboard Eastern Coastline engines with Freight roll thru here - before everything turned into CSX.
I've just bought this kit and have been looking at builds and reviews of it. This was by far the most enjoyable. The whole story of a beat up truck,it's engine change and glass ageing technique was great. I don't know who 'she' is and would hope you could give her a name and I do hope she is still modelmaking. We need more young people in this hobby. Thanks for showing and best wishes from jolly old England 👍😎Pete 🤓
Thank you for the kind comments. She is my daughter, and yes, she still builds models. She has taken her love of building models to a career repairing cars and other equipment. I agree, more young folks need to get into this hobby. Have a wonderful rest of your day! Thank you again for commenting.
@@trafficsignalman thanks for replying,👍, I noticed it was quite an old video and time marches on.👍. I wish her every success in her career, I'm an old panel beater/ welder/fabricator myself, but now relegated to styrene only😅👍. I hope you have a good weekend too. We are having some glorious weather here😎so I'm knee deep in laundry 😥.
These are model antiques! 😆🤣😅 Maybe the seller has no idea of hobby or he/she was selling the things belong to others. The Hasegawa kits can be traced back to 1970s. 😂😘
Yep probably bought by a modeler, but never built due to who knows what, and they ended up getting sold. Nothing of collector value, so will be good builds, eventually.
On the metal axles, if you take a file and round the ends a little bit, remove the "Burr" from where the axle was cut off at the factory, they will go in the wheel holes better.
Greetings from Monster Hobbies in Alberta, Canada. Model looks great. I have one of these that someone built and ended up in my hands years ago. I have the heavy duty transmission towers still sealed in the plastic bag, but the actual trailer is built. My goal is to rebuild it and add in the unused transmission towers. I like your ramps.
She studied some flatbed trailers here in Florida and modeled the ramps after what she saw on a DOT lowboy. I am proud of her desire to personalize/customize her kits. Think out of the box!
WOW! That is really a nice looking trailer, You have an eye for weathered detail. I really liked how you fabricated the ramps from the rails on the trailer (frankly, i think they are MUCH better how you put them to use than the kit designers intended. I thought the box to hold the wheel chocks was a good idea and if you find it hard for the tractor to turn, just pop it on to the deck of the trailer, problem solved (when you look at other trailers, you'll see...they put those boxes in many different locations). I look forward to seeing then projects you turn out. Really a fantastic effort!
She studied FDOT lowboys while she was doing this model. She liked the ramps, and she tried several times to make them work. I think these were her third try. The parts for the ramps came from the kit. She wants to do another one, but school is getting in her way right now. She hopes to complete her Country Dodge Charger by the end of the year, tho. I am super proud of her, and am amazed at her creativity. Thank you for your encouragement.
@@trafficsignalman The kid has talent! I really am looking forward to seeing more of her models! I was most impressed at her tackling and the way she turned out that Dodge (I'll admit, THAT was a tough kit)! I am standing by for the unveiling of the Dodge charger.
That was Old Toms, he's always hungry, and wants to be the center of attention. We were occupying his spot for the video. Yes, he is still going strong.
Nice choice buddy very much appreciate it my freind u supporting the GB this year i look forward to seeing what u do with the build thank u for the mention shout out your awsome thanks bro,👍Keith
@@trafficsignalman enjoy buddy dosnt matter how it looks I know it will be cool but if u run into any problems don't let it deter you from posting as a final b4 finishing Date so your entry is in for the giveaway ok .but I know you'll do a amazing job so goodluck and thank you for taking part in the GroupBuild thank you👍
Talking about being lucky!!! The guy probably was looking to get rid of his grandfather(?) collection of old stuff and never bothered to look what's inside each box!! Tell us who the eBay seller is. Maybe we can also still buy a kit that has quite a few more inside!!! Happy scale modelling!
@@trafficsignalman Thanks for the reply. You must be the happiest scale modeller (and luckiest) in the world. Even for someone who has quite a collection of scale model kits and in a sense you can say he doesn't need more it would have been a big surprise to see all those kits when opening the box!!
@@billpandos7962 yes, it was a surprise, especially to see that many substantially COMPLETE kits. Finding them.is half the fun. Building is the other half. Have a great day!.
Estate liquidation. Boxes deteriorate. The dude combined his kits into a surviving box & called it good or his widow sold the B-29 not knowing diddly about models. Or didn't care.Good haul. The O-2 has a molding problem. Probably was sold as a regular kit with the mistake missed by the plant worker.
If you are referring to the odd shaped holes in the fuselage they are observation windows they are supposed to be there. You can even see the same holes in the build instructions.
Thanks for the comment, but screwed? Hardly, I got the B-29 AND the 6 kits for about $30 out the door. Only reason I bought it was I thought the B-29 was complete, which it was. The other "pieces" I had intended on using for kitbashing or diorama. The seller made the mistake here. I can see your comment tho. EBAY = caveat emptor!
6 kits for the price of one? There is no screw job anywhere except if the B-29 was not complete. Even then, we all know buying on ebay is taking a chance. Even used or open kits sold by online shops like Megahobby can be incomplete. Do you go to concerts just to boo?
Thanks for the comment. I was doing a quick and dirty inventory of the kits. Haven't done the in-depth pre-build work up. Ultimately, 7 kits for the price of one, even if there is some garbage was a deal. Will build the Aichi soon. Or, at least attempt to. Have a great one!
David, thanks for the comment! The kit, best I can tell, dates back to 1963 Monogram initial issue. It is "supposed" to replicate the VMA 332, or VMA 214 of Korean War vintage.
@@trafficsignalman , thank you. I am looking for a model of the late-war F4U-4 Corsair with the six wing-mounted 50-cali- ber machine guns. Do you know about the Ac- ademy kit of the Korean War F4U-4 Corsair with four 20mm cannons? It would be an excel- lent comparison to the Revell kit you have built. I had the Academy kit. I had started a sort of conversion with a Tamiya kit of the F4U- 1D, incorporating the changes forward of the cockpit. I knew too little of the exact details, to determine where to make the cuts in the fuselage. I since have read that the designers might have enlarged the vertical stabiliser, though I do not know of the specific measurements. The Academy kit's surface detail fell far short of that of the Tamiya model's. I also would require the six 50-cals in the wings of the latter kit.
@@DavidRLentz I have always liked Academy kits, typically pretty accurate. Agreed, panel lines are an issue. As for the late model F4U with the .50 Brownings, the Tamaya kit may be what you are looking for. Good luck.
David, that is the CSX S Line, old Seaboard Atlantic Line, if I am correct. Not a model, that's the life size real thing. However, my preferred model train scale is N.
Keith, it is a great kit, however, I made the mistake of trying this with Fester as his first glue together. I had not done a styrene model for over 20+ years. Did not realize how much I had forgotten, and how much things had changed. We have "Lazurus" in a box right now, safe from moving and the cats. Will be completing his build as a tow truck with a bar, not a sling. Hopefully, again HOPEFULLY, before Christmas.
Keith, she really likes the Dukes of Hazzard, and she's been researching the '69 Charger to get the right build. She's excited to see the new workshop going up and getting back to building.
@@trafficsignalman yeah great car good plan same similar plan I'd been talking to you really but cause it was ur family member I actually eddited my comment cause I called ye buddy and bro but I taut his family member is female I got to edit out bro and buddy ha ha😂👍 but great plan I look forward to seeing what she comes up with when olits done as I was saying freind done me General lee wheels b4 i had my own 3D printer and id also got sticker decals from the 125th scale by mpc sent to me cause I was looking for them iv had the revelle Germany 78 kit ready 2years to start buildin general lee I even got the bash bar from 3rd freind to make the car kit more legit for the General lee replica build but wish you guys luck ill be watching 👍Keith
nice work ive built 5 so far and have another in my stash...lol. i think everyone should have 1 on hand. for the cost the detail is decent good test bed for experimenting on.
Nice build young man. I really like that you took the time to cut the doors open on the body. That is not an easy kit to assemble, you did great, keep it up.!!
David, he got really frustrated over the doors, I was really proud he stayed with it and completed the build. He is working on doing another build of this type, don't know his modification plans, yet. Currently building a workshop, so the model building has taken a back seat.
Hey signal man new sub from a freinds channel seen u in his comments so checked ur channel out like the work great looking kit fire chief, 👍 turned out cool engine is awsome my new modelling frind im subbed to u im keith im from Ireland and ill be looking forward to the next one build on my freind and stay safe..
