On the rear of the injection pump where your vent tube and all of the linkage controls are should there be compressor oil in that or diesel I thought it had oil in it, and I was going to change it, but I believe it was diesel coming out
@@matthewmilam286 I’ve heard compressor oil but I run the same oil as in the engine. I change it about every other engine oil change. I also squirt a little in there from time to time. It’ll drip out if it over fills. Just gives me a peace of mind.
I have the 18" one, got it about 4 years ago. It's a trooper and has accompanied me along on professional tree work gigs as well as general home use. Only issue I have was with continually ripping the starter cord out but I've still had to put less effort into maintenance than the Stihls I've used. Can't complain for the price and reliability.
How does it handle with the tuff torq tz 400 hydros? I am used to Hydro Gear hydros. I would appreciate any information you or others could offer on this. We had a 2016 RT Pro with Parker hydros and loved it. We sold it and bought an Ariens ; they don't handle as well.
@RanchinOnMission Thanks for the quick reply!. I just read they are discontinuing that model and replacing it with the Defender. The RZ Pro is still in the lineup, and it uses the Tuff Torq tz450.
@@RanchinOnMission thanks for the quick response. I purchased my first house that needs almost everything replaced I believe I will be going with tin on the exterior walls, I will definitely be subscribing to follow your channel
An update on my RZ 54. Added the Tec Pacs (175.00, free shipping) for suspension and the deck height peddle extender (37.00, 10.00 shipping). Definitely needed for me on this mower, I recommend both. Also I have the B&S 2500 CXi engine, can't believe how clean the air filter stays compared to others I have seen.
Sir, I really like your content and your views. Please tell me where this dealer is located. Hard to find Godly businesses that is willing to profess the LORD.
Just got the same mower. The service manager at the Spartan plant called me and talked me out of the rear shock absorber when I tried to order one, according to him the benefit was really negligible. He said the better option was the Tecs Pack Kit that mounts under the front of the seat. It is actually cheaper and easy to install and really makes a difference.

I've got the same mower you have. I purchased it 11/23 and so far only put 10 hours on it. Mine has the same red or orange numbers on the height control knob and they are faded also. I think mine sat out side at the dealer in the direct sunlight for while before I purchased it because the plastic fuel tank shows signs of sun damage. One other thing I wish they would have given us would be a decent sized tray/cup holder on the left side. I need a place for small tools, pruners and a bigger cup. I found a good price on the lights and added the light bar. Next will be the hitch, I moved some huge plastic trash bags and had to put them on the foot rest. They blocked the parking brake pedals so I had to kick the bags off and come back later to stack them up for the trash men. So far I'm happy with mine.
@RanchinOnMission they are built less than a mile from each other. They both use 7ga decks, motors and hydros. The guy that started spartan also started bad boy with a partner. Bb was sold and then spartan sold to toro
@@edwardbuhler1568 yes, I know the whole story. I’ve also compared them side by side and bad boy and this mower are not even close. At the time that I bought, hydros were not the same. The main part of the deck may be both 7gauge but supports and reinforcements on the Spartan are heavier. He came up with a complete new design. Bad boy was my second choice because of they make good mowers but not in the class with Spartan. I had to look at commercial mowers to find better and that was only drives and motors that were better.
I just bought one, so no good suggestions, I'm thinking a hydraulic top link would be helpful. Other than that, just finding the sweet spot with the manual. I have a good box blade so will probably loosen with the rippers. I bought it mostly to transport our compost to the garden. For that I imagine I'll be using it in reverse.
Hmm. Now ya tell me. The key is “seasoned” wood. I bought one a while back and sent it right back because it didn’t split very good. Wasn’t seasoned wood. lol. Thanks!
One of the main reasons that we have to unfortunately go through all this trouble to build and erect these unsightly warning signs is because pre 1970’s attorneys were forbidden from advertising. Until one from Texas, I heard another in California, filed a lawsuit saying this was discriminatory. And they won. Now all we see everywhere is billboards and commercials saying. We’ll get money for you. Yep. A contributing factor to the downfall 😢
If it has hydraulic steering and it works, that’ll rule out the pump or if it has hydraulic remotes on the rear then you can test with an attachment or if it has a FEL , operating it will too. Other wise if it’s full of fluid, it’s probably the lift cylinder, but I’m just a redneck.
Looking to get that exact mower and i seen that model has the tuff torq 400 transmissions. Does yours have drain plugs to do fluid chamges on you're model i get find anything on the manual just says serviceable
Good video I have a farm pro 2420 which is the same company did you replace the seals on the ram that pushes up the lift since there are no books I have to figure out if I have to take the shifter out and go in through there or take the top off
I bought the same saw on Ebay last year ~ french design/engineering outsourced to China to manufacture. I have the 5820 with a 460 rancher too. Great saw. Dereal sells a 62cc as well ~ I'm now on the hunt to add one of those to the line-up. Great vid btw ~ God bless.
Bought a Dereal to use for ripping logs. Didnt wanna burn up my still. It starts easy and runs good. Have used it a couple years for making lumber and so far so good! might wanna buy a bigger one at some point. I agree with your thoughts.
I have this saw. Bought it on ebay for 115 dollars. Original listing is now gone, and on amazon it says unavailable. looks like they may no longer be making this exact saw. However they have a blue model I see on walmart. Not sure how different it is.
Any info on the rear remotes? I have a similar tractor and can't get fluid to the rear remote to lift my plow and disc. I've screwed in the speed control valve and shut off the 3 point per directions from old forums, but I'm still not getting fluid to the rear quick connects / remotes.
