whats your plan if you spill oil or fluids in those ? I saw drains, are those hooked up to waste water or something else?

Not connected to anything yet as I havent decided on how or if I should do it. Just planning to put down an oil absorbing mat for now.

Do I need to remove whole bearing in order to replace one of the broken screws?
@tk4ytc
@tk4ytc Месяц назад
I think that is possible without removing the bearing but I’m not a 100% sure. Removing the caliper and bracket to make room to be able to press/punch the old bolt out should be enough…

I wouldn't bother with the tool. I bought this puller kit and nearly snapped the bolts. Just take the hub off and take it to your local garage and get them to fit the new bearing. Cost me £30 at my local. Wasted £65 on puller kit.

The intermediate step at 4:05 isn't necessary, you just need to setup the tool beforehand around the wheelbearing and to keep it from falling apart just use two screw clamps to put it secured into place and then when the pulling assembly is installed you can remove the clamps, it is intended to work that way. I would also suggest not to use normal grease on the bushing/bearing but instead a mounting grease with MoS2 (for example Molykote G rapid+) To prepare for sometimes worse conditions it is good to have an angled hard metal stick to grind out possible rust incrustations from the backwall and the small groove, just to make sure that the bearing inserted, is 100% flush up against the limiting edge, this is also where I put grease, because when there is grease, there is no water and water takes time to take effect. Anotherthing to try/do preemptively when the bearing is out, is to carefully spray the ABS sensor with WD-40 from top and especially from bottom and let it sit, and then try to remove the ABS sensor, clean up the hole with a drill bit (by hand using the drill bit as a tool) and remove rust, then to put grease inside that hole rub it against the walls and also put some grease around the collar not the sensor area. Why: because you will know when your ABS sensor has failed - then if it could be removed and preemtively treated in this situation, without much in the way its hassle free. If it does not come out anyway, just let it, on failiure the sensor needs to be decapitated and possibly drilled/cracked out .

Good work! but you should never hit a new bearing with a hammer.. also a good spread of lithium grease would have helped your cause brother!
