Longevity is more of an issue. I ask the question. Would you want a 10-year silicone or 25-year acrylic or urethane? Basing your whole video opinion on silicone is always better than Acrylic no questions asked is ludicrous.
Well, 25-year acrylic will dissolve under ponding water within a year. It's not useful on flat roofs. Urethane is the best, but it's so costly that it is generally only used for specialty roofing jobs.
@@TheAdastraGRL im told no.....then im told you can...then im told you need a primer first🤔🤔🤔 no body on the same page....try to contact henry products....sold at home depot.....they should have answer
@@tomkelly3896 I have a bucket of stuff that my builder used but we don't have a lot of it left and I haven't been able to find it online either. Getting ready to install solar panels and after the footings go in on the flat roof, we were going to do another layer or two of sealant. Not sure that we can find the same bucket of stuff. Found other sealant but want to make sure it will go over the other one.
@@TheAdastraGRL im not an expert......i do understand certain paints dont agree w each other....water based vs oil based...vs silicone.....i have ponding on my roof....and the stores will tell you anything to make a sale....maybe the local hardware store can guide you.....i was sold 3 buckets of paint 13 gal at tucson rubberized coatings...and told it would hold up to pudding....well its 3 yrs now and the areas that puddle ...the rubberized coating is bubbling up and disentergrating.....im told silicone or tar are only things that hold up to ponding water....im on the fence which way to go
