I'm amazed about the millions of these cartons being used dayly all over the world ....while most are just thrown away and burned .... Not to mention the regular carton boxes for storage .........unbelievable there are actually still trees....
dear tetrapak, me and my wife are having an argument about the tetrahedron package. I say it only has 2 seams and she says there are 3. But in USA, nothing comes in a tetrahedron package and we can't resolve the matter.
I am not at Tetra Pak, but I know this: There is first one seam that makes the flat paper into a cylinder. The cylinder is pinched at the bottom, the carton is filled with product and then it is pinched at the top at a 90° angle. That makes three seams per carton. The seam that made it into a cylinder is flat and not at any edge - there are only two pinched hard edge seams. The tetra shape is now quite uncommon even here in Sweden where it was invented. I remember juice cartons back in the '80s but lately I have seen them only as tiny cartons with UHT-treated milk in offices and restaurants for adding to coffee.
@@FindecanorNotGmail you are perfectly correct: that's the way the Tetra Classic (for original package) is made. Three "seals" are made when producing it. You can still find some of this beautiful packages in Sweden for small coffe cream. Enjoy it!
