10 years later and I'm doing this today- have a couple pair of wraparound sunglasses and old lenses from broken glasses. I was thinking about doing this, but wasn't sure about the glue type or if I had completely lost it! I do have a couple pair of "real Rx sunglasses", but it's hard to find wraparound ones that are affordable. Worst case is I lose the lenses which come from broken glasses, and/or I lose the non Rx sunglasses that I can't really use to see
Well, it was pretty easy. Cleaned everything really well first, hot glue gun on low temp as to not melt the plastic lenses... I love it! I know hot glue fails in the cold, so I'll reserve these for warm weather. Just spent $0 on 2 pair of Rx polarized sunglasses! I did it on mirrored lenses, makes it much less visible from the outside. I had the song "Real Men of Genius" playing in my head the whole time haha! 😅 Might even buy some cheapo glasses online just to salvage the lenses
1. You're using a body trimmer for your face 2. This trimmer has a lot more functions than your old one so ofcourse you have to switch more. 3. You don't have a beard, so I don't understand why you even buy this product.
Just subbed, about to check out some of your other videos!! You deserve more views! Do you know about Promosm?? It will really help you with growing your channel.
What?? I just now saw this, and it is freaking _brilliant_! I’m going to have to try it with my old coke bottle birth control glasses. I’m sure there are other ways to attach the glasses lenses to the sunglasses lenses, so it’s worth it to experiment. Freaking _brilliant_, I say!
why dont just buy a cheap 20$ polarized prescription sunglasses lens with variety of color to choose, from mirrored to nightvision lens online? Just message your prescription rx to the seller, when you received your lens , bring it to optical and cut to fit on frame nice and elegant.
Isma DD it's not always that easy. Especially someone like me with a strong prescription (-7.25, -7.5). If they even carry my prescription, I cannot escape any website without them asking me to pay over $200 😭
I wear prescription glasses, decently big plastic frames (I guess that don't matter ) but I'm getting new ones because mine broke and I temperarly fixed them, but I never really got into sunglasses until I got normal glasses and I'm glad this works because I was gonna try it when my new ones come in and I went to youtube for some help and u guess I found it. thanks!
The bigger the prescription lenses, the less of an issue will be having glue lines in your field of view. Positioning the lenses in the best place to be in the main line of your sight helps too.
This can be done to most glasses, but some work better than others, depends on well the curvature of the prescription and sunglass lenses match up. So if the curvatures make a fairly decent fit, doesn't need to be totally flush, you could hot glue and go for it!
Not a bad idea, as long as the sun glass lens doesn't melt from the heat of the hot glue. You'll also have to deal with the irritating presence of blobs (no matter how small) of glue in your field of vision. Also helps if you have a spare set of Prescription lenses around. Don't destroy your only pair to do this (lol).
