good evening i have the same boat with cummins 2.0ltr turbo i cannot reach over 2,200 revs flat out 16 knotts please tell me what you are achieving revs and speed torquay dave
Hi with a clean bottom I reached 21/22 knots and sure was around 3000rpm. This greatly reduced after build up of slimey bottom and was around 16 knots. I sold her March 2020 and was relieved with lockdown & then prices shot up! Heyho!!! They're not for speed really but good stable seagoing boats enjoy!
mike i just need some good weather to put it on my pontoon my boat was avocet inner harbour but now sold i have a bow thruster on this one would love to take you up on your offer must meet up somehow dave
just bought an arvor 230as im on pontoon torquay marina as of 4.7.21 please look me up need advise on controls and fishing grounds im in your age bracket give or take thanks dave
Hi Dave sorry only just seen. Great boats once you get used to shaft/rudder steering-I was used to outboards and drive legs so was easier, especially going astern. I was lucky as I had a bow thruster so you can compensate for having no steering astern using a bow thruster. I sold my boat March last year. So you're in the Marina NOT the inner harbour? I have a mate in the inner harbour with a 215 and he's a gem for fishing knowledge, I fished wrecks and skerries with some degree of luck. I'm sure he can help you on good fishing spots. Be happy to pop down and have a chat. cheers Mike
Hi yes it's a really good sized fishing boat plus very seaworth! We have been very pleased- we have an inboard Volvo Penta D3 160 Diesel which works really well. Think there's more outboard ones around! You will be very pleased with the Pirate!! Cheers Mike
