@Hoffenheim08 Well look I don't care about Slams, the fact is that all the good ones were competing against each other back then, Graf, Seles, Hingis, Davenport, Capriati, Williams sisters, Pierce, Clijsters, Henin... they were competing against each other and it was awesome to watch, what's better for you watching Graf or Navratilova dominating the game easier than Serena now?
@niall29 Uh yeah, ok. That doesn't mean that women's tennis is as enjoyable as men's tennis, when women's tennis was at its best (1999-2003) it was quite more popular than men's tennis, well of course right now I enjoy more watching men's tennis because wta sucks right now, but I enjoy watching a Nadal-Federer match as much as I enjoy watching a Serena-Hingis classic.
@DIANAROSS4EVER If I can hit the ball 25% harder than you, hit it accurately and keep it down with topspin, it is unlikely that you will be able to beat me, no matter how good your technique is in other areas. If I have much heavier groundstrokes than you I will be able to keep you at the back of the court, control the game, move you around and put you away, consistently.
im pretty sure a nationally ranked 13yo could beat Serena Williams. Serena travels with male hitting partners who never played profeesionally and im sure the reason she does this is because they are far superior than practicing with females on the circuit. a guy i work with claims that if SW played on the atp she would be ranked top 100. i argue she wouldnt be top 1000. she wouldnt win games in futures or challengers.
@awesomekidddo i know you posted this ages ago but ill add my 2 cents. Davenport admits that she cant beat her husband at tennis. he was never pro. she was a former no 1.When Capriati won at RG she admitted being unable to beat her then teenage brother who was never coached professionally. S and V boasted that they should play the ATP and were challenged by a 30yo journeyman amateur ranked 600 in the world and they got slaughtered. he smoked between points and didnt take it seriously.
I understand what you are trying to say with the whole "men are stronger than woman" statement. However, you are stretching it way too far. First of all, any 13 year old lacks a) the physical maturity of a 28 year old female and b) the mental maturity of a 28 year old female. Of course, I am sure that there are 18 year olds that can beat Serena Williams. Thirteen? No way. Fourteen? No. Fifteen? No. Sixteen? No. Seventeen? Probably...not. Eighteen? Maybe.
Im a fan, saw him on Miami 2009 S7V player. Serve is wooping 135+mph 140+ in consecutive serving. even Roddick cant top that. he only did 1 serve which I think is BS.
Both my parents like her so I watch a couple of videos of Diana and I liked her. However I put DIANAROSS4EVER as my nickname in youtube when I was at the top of the fanaticism about her. Now I like her, but I'm not a Diana Ross hooligan lol
I really like that answer :) OK, normal man beat top woman. But female tennis players aren't just, hey how beautiful she is, let support her, she train really hard, and make the top of hers, so that's why I also support women's tennis. And because its nice to see, don't say me that you don't enjoy for example a match between Venus Williams and Lindsay Davenport. Or Martina Hingis which her game was really beautiful
Hehe, could you please use a more simple English? I'm a 14 year old Spanish boy. I think it's important because malist (or whatever, don't know how to say it) is a very stupid thing, of course we're superior to women in much many sides, but that doesn't mean that we're Gods and they're rubbish. Because that a 13 year old player can defeat a female Grand Slam champion, well, no. That's impossible, even if she had a broken leg.
Just to get it clear, I'm a guy hahah! But man, it's true, when you see a tennis player like Nicole Vaidisova it's a really slow and orthopaedic game, and very female. But if a woman like Stosur bases her game in a lot of men's, like Phillippousis, it changes. Sorry but a fucking 13 year old boy cannot win a game against a hypermusclepower 25 year old Samantha Stosur who serves at 202!
WOW! Are you sure about her atheliticism? Then female players didn't have so much power, if you see a match of Chris Evert against Navratilova in the 70's, it's beautiful because it's a beautiful and long game, but man, they returned each other's smashes really easily, it was a real lack of power, for example if Sam Stosur now meets a top 300 player she would be at the level, God she's really athletic, and her serves go 200 km/h.
We're talking about Sharapova, God, see her game, it's pure power, she against a top 200 guy which his game is not based in power... It wouldn't be that impossible. I don't remember who was him, someone told me
