I am Canadian and I was 9 years old when I saw the first episode and heard the music, for that period it was simply fascinating, it opened the door of ww2 history for me and until today I study every aspect of that period
Reflections. Thankyou for this tribute. Not just to the film but to the remembrance of D-day. It is by far the best ever war documentary. What you say about the music is beautiful in itself.... 'the most chilling, terrifying, yet beautiful music'
I was so hyped for another Indiana Jones movie. Saw it opening day and something didn't feel right. I didn't get that same exciting feeling I got watching all the others, even Crystal Skull. I saw it six more times hoping I'd eventually come around to liking it. I never did.
Well said and I could not agree with you more. While dated in format, the WAW series lacks some of the latest historical information we now possess. Having said that, the content is nonetheless superb and the entire series stands as likely one of the best, if not, the best WW2 documentary series ever made. If any WW2 history buff has not seen it, it is a must.
Agreed! Truly the best educational thing that’s come across my way in a very long time. I love how in depth it is. Just being able to hear from the generals and such on all sides.
The series has some historical issues, especially the lack of information on code breaking ("ENIGMA") as that secret was still kept at the time of its production. But the interviews are fantastic; for example Speer, Donitz, a huge range of other senior German officers and civilians. Equally Bomber Harris makes an interesting appearance, like a kindly elderly bank manager ... Overall the series is superb, and large parts are very harrowing. Try watching it from the start.
Thank you for letting me know about this! That makes total sense. I’ve been watching them in order episodically. I’m at episode 12 or 13 currently. Truly eye opening.
A character having flaws is not a flaw of the film. Just because a character wouldn’t make a choice you would doesn’t make the writing bad???? I couldn’t get through this because you sound to have such a terrible grasp on writing. You said the movie doesn’t give a shit what the audience wants….. is that why you watch movies???
Hey, thank you for the feedback. My comment about the movie not giving a shit about what the audience wants is more so directed towards what I mentioned about the character already having had a wrapped up story and arc in the last film. Him making choices I disagree with is perfectly fine. I completely understood him wanting to stay in the past, and him continuing to honor is friendship to the professor by taking up the mantle one last time and keep his daughter safe. It just felt unnecessary and unfulfilling when paired with the obnoxiousness of Phoebe's character and a lot of the jabs taken at him as a character. Thanks again for the feedback and giving the video a chance.
The movie was actually better than I expected. Phoebe's role was a bit obnoxious and the time travel seemed like an after thought, but overall it's fine. The first act was my favorite
As bad as the movie is at least it ain't as bad as the title of this video, "rebel poon" how pathetic! I thought a 10 year old came up with that then i saw it was a grown man, pathetic !
@@DonnyxCage Oo, you actually...no, I don't need to ask; your bad experience was cinema screen-scaled, while I watched it on a monitor---you had it way worse, whereas I could have switched off at any time, lol
Good thing it’s not a history channel. You’re welcome to clarify and share your understanding with people. From what I’ve seen across RU-vid and other websites, our history is taught differently across the globe. Edit: Thank you for the feedback as well. I’ll do better to be more accurate in future videos.
This was his attempt of star wars when they (disney) rejected it he said ok i'll make it anyway."" So thays why we got space nazi in this movie. Also, if anyone watched the clone wars animated series, this is the episode where they help the farmers fight off pirates. 😆
I knew it was a rejected Star Wars script and a sort of spin on Seven Samurai (also a movie where they protect samurai) I hadn’t heard about Clone wars though lmao. Make sense. Unlike this script.
