Unfortunately, it appears that the extended stay hotels, cardrooms and CPS termination of twenty something indigenous and 50+ year old male crisis runaways is starting to find it's way into Lubbock. This pattern has been clearly a cog turning wheel in major metroplexes for years. We know it happens. Never advertised. Case by court case to County embedded. CPS foots the bills when alcohol and drugs are involved up until the newborn is born. I believe that these factors are related to but not limited to higher education and women surpassing their fertile windows such that many educationed and not indigent females are simply not available for conception. If these two are in fact related, then we need to move back the age at which females enter into university systems to UK 🇬🇧 age of 17. And shorten the degree years to also match UK 🇬🇧 of 2 years. We all know that the titles of the courses change but the contence of the courses are very closely the same topics. A lof of MD program headed potential students bypass a biology degree or other pure major BS for a general degree that is faster with a jump over to Public Health MS then a step into MD program, leaving pure play BS in Biology which takes way, way longer then general studies bach with a MS in PH. This is all highly unstandardized and like a built in punishment for the pure science lab class with lecture burdened students.
I am from Austin there are zero flights direct to Austin on the major carriers. That being said Southwest is the best option, and the Dallas Love Field (Southwest HQ) stop is worth it. The DFW connection via other airlines is a nightmare.
Do us a favor: Don't. Considering that most of the people likely to move here come from very left leaning states and will likely continue to vote that way themselves, you will not be welcomed here if you bring the politics that ruined your state with you here. We don't want that crap. Texas is for Texans and people willing to become Texans and live amongst our people and culture, not people looking to turn Texas into California 2.0. If you can integrate and not force your ideals on us, then cool. If not, then don't come here.
I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Gets hot. Very humid because I lived fairly close to the gulf. But it d I didn't bother me growing. I left and lived In L. A. CA for three years. Came back and I could hardly stand the humidity. But I became use to and it's not so bad. I live in Central Texas. About an hour from Austin and going north to Waco is about an hour also. Not as humid as being by the Gulf.
Dude spent 10 seconds on Houston and just showered it with insults. WOW, what's my experience when I was living in Dallas, I live in Houston now and how he described Houston is nothing like Houston. Come on bro stop lying on Houston
Oh my! Been watching now for a while. I’m starting to love this place (well me, wife and kids) so much to like!! We are looking to move from the UK. So far we are sold on Texas or NC. Our only concern with Lubbock is lack of beach / coast 🙈 how long would it take you to get to the nearest beach? Please don’t hate on the comment we just really want the ‘American Dream’ I see Texas and NC as a great place for business and opportunity for our children. So far we were leaning to Houston but we love the look and feel of Lubbock 🙈 great video! Have a great day all! 🇬🇧🇺🇸
FYI we are from wales 🏴 in the uk 🇬🇧 so yes we are a lot friendlier than the English lol we have a sense of humour manners respect and courtesy for our fellow citizens. The English (not all) but have a stuck up way about them. Here in Wales we don’t we help eachother lol 👍🏻🏴 just thought I’d add as you mentioned visiting the UK lol 👍🏻
@@jllewellyn8000 Lubbock is unfortunately very far from the beach :( It’s a great place- but you may be better off in NC if you’re going to want to be somewhere beautiful! Greetings from Texas!
@@LubbockLiving thanks for your reply! Well I would say Lubbock looks beautiful (sandy point and marina beach) the markets, the feel of the place (through a screen) 😂 still on our list as we have a great feeling about it. Will keep watching 👍🏻 subbed and liked 👍🏻
Doing a lot of research for me and my family to leave the uk for the states and so far it’s between Houston or NC. We love the coast (obviously 1hour drive to the nearest beach for Houston) but I see it as a place for opportunity not just for me and my business but for our children. Seems as though there’s a lot there for us to achieve. NC looks so nice too. Cancelled the lovely looking San Antonio (a friend of mine said the crime there has gone crazy) plus too far from a beach. Austin just looks a little manic from the outside and Dallas looks great but yes lack of beach and tornados. Houston seems to be the place if any for us. So NC or Houston, so difficult as the USA is so diverse (a good thing) so many great places! But we want good schools, good opportunity for business, low crime, healthcare and a beach. ‘Prefer a red state too’. The UK is grey and bleak, crime is rising all the time, and the taxation, cost of living, healthcare etc is just a joke as well as the politics! We just want to experience the states with hard work, determination and to meet genuine like minded people. No offence meant by the comment on places, just a view of what we want / need as a family looking from the outside ‘across the pond’ and want to embrace the American way’ have a great day all!! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Lubbock #1 STD’s in the Nation, Dallas 79% Europeans, Austin was hippy town now just Tech town, Houston jungle city wild animals looking for prey daily, San Antonio majority latino but city runs by women and going nowhere doesn’t know how to spend tax $
I'm quite young but i hope by the time I grow up I still am interested and have to opportunity to live there! The brick houses have such a charm, it doesn't even look old!
Lubbock, Texas over took Odessa, Texas, as the dirtiest town in Texas. Every river and road, lake neighborhood, is full of trash and torn tires. Don't get me started on the parks. It's starting to look like California with all the homeless people roaming the streets. The roads in the town are poorly maintained. Weeds and tall grass all over the entire city. They have more cops than they actually need. Crime is very high. The murder rate is high, the car thefts are high, and the home invasion is high. Even the locals talk about the high rent and low pay in that town. In order to live there, you would have to make $20 an hour. Or couples would both have to contribute to survive there. I'm from Houston, and after years here, it's not worth it. I'm leaving and going back.
theres still not a lot to do, if u drive by market street on weeknds, half of lubbock is in there standing in line , im like its the weeknd, go do something lol
Well, DANG! Here in El Paso County--which includes El Paso the city--has about ¾ million people. But, since we're the only place in Texas in Mountain Time Zone, we often get overlooked like the red-headed step child. We beat San Antonio in percentage of Hispanics, have the best food in the state and are currently enjoying our 65th day over 100°! Finished growing up in Ft. Worth, but I'll take the dust/wind over humidity.
Ok, there are definitely some issues here. For one, I don't know anyone else that refers to Houston as being in south Texas. It's in southeast Texas. The next would be when discussing west Texas. You completely left out El Paso, which is as far west as you can go in Texas and it's larger than both Lubbock and Amarillo. I will say though, as someone that was born in Dallas, grew up in east Texas, but lived in El Paso for a bit as an adult, El Paso doesn't feel like Texas to me. If you don't like big cities, prefer rural areas and small towns, enjoy forest land, lakes, and rivers, check out east/southeast Texas.
Hey good sir how about a video about your favorite restaurant. Wine and dine and all. Please please please! Asian food, steakhouse, burger joints, Indian food, bbq, local favorites and it all please. I am a food person.
0:37 what do you mean? I think the many heat waves, random thunderstorms, minor tornados, dust storms, and the occasional blizzard in the winter are very good weather patterns. 😂
I was born and raised there. I escaped in September 2000 when I moved to Dallas. I haven't been back since December 2011. I have zero reasons to go back.
