You didnt actually explain or show us how to hook it up especially hooking it up to the back up lights which wire which connector you ised. Try again show the actual details please.
The best thing you can do for this car is tint, lowering springs, LED bulbs all around including inside, maybe a roof wing, and for looks an exhaust but don't expect anymore power as these car are built with top performance stock and the minute you put a loud exhaust in it you're going to feel the lost of power, so yea best thing for power is to buy yourself a new BMW other than that that's all you can get from this car and all Maximas starting from their beginning of their making, their are fast grocery getters that's it, but to think you're going to make a difference out there in the streets killing dudes in BMW or Audis yea you're going to get a rude awekening, but hey they are nice cars, i had how many damn 5 all together and did everything to those cars to make them just go slower and some maybe a couple HP faster and I spent thousands, so yea don't waste your money on this car for speed as you will lose to anything made after the year 2020 so yea good luck and hope you took this very expensive advice.
Best first 3 mods for a newer Maxima; first trade whatever model you have in and buy a clean 5.5 or 6 gen 6MT car, then headers/y-pipe, and a tune. In all seriousness though the 8G and to some extent the 9G Maxima are sharp looking sedans, but the CVT and lack of tuning support really killed the performance potential these cars used to have. The old 5.5/6G cars with just a few bolt-ons and good tires would easily get well into the 12’s and hang with all manner of “higher performance” vehicles of the time. The Maxima truly still earning its 4DSC badge at that time. Fast forward to current models and you can barely break out of the 14’s even with all the performance parts the aftermarket has to offer for the platform. It’s just one of those models that fell off and went by the wayside. Definitely a sad thing for ole’ Datsun.
@@HorsepowerLabs I was mostly just kidding. The Vq35 hasn’t changed much at its core from the early 2000’s to the ones they still stuff in a Maxima today so they can definitely still make power. A 7th gen isn’t bad at all; you can still tune those cars, they look good, they aren’t super heavy. About the only downside to them is the CVT so if you get rid of that in favor of a 6MT I’d say a 7th gen is still 4 door sports car material lol. Any idea how much power you make through the 6 speed? The most I ever made NA was 303whp and that was with a DE engine, FBO and JWT C8 cams/springs revving to the moon lol. That was a lot of power at the time for a 5.5 gen stripped down to under 3000#s.
@@kennethpowers8995 it’s been street tuned only haven’t hit a dyno yet. I can only compare to other cars. Like a type R I pull on it easy. I stay close a scatpack with them pulling slightly but they are way heavier. I got a race coming up with a single turbo civic so we will see how that goes
My wife’s engine on her maxima went out 2 weeks after we finished paying it off. I had the idea to do this to it and I was told I was a dumbass. I just found you and I love what you did to it so I wanna do the same thing. What was your total price for the conversion if you don’t mind me asking. And what size LS did you use?
As a maxima owner I disagree I feel that you should focus on the more important Things like new headlights or fog lights or an interior sound system or things to make the comfort better but that’s just my opinion
@@HorsepowerLabs If the transmission came off of an Altima the fill plug is near the back top of the transmission close to the firewall. It has a 10mm bolt holding a cap on it. The cap has an O-ring built into it. I change the clutch on my Nissan Altima myself and I am pretty sure you used the same transmission. I will try to post the part number if I can find it and you can check for yourself.
@@HorsepowerLabs Yup, I just rewatched the video and I saw the fill plug on your transmission when you panned the camera at it. It will make your life easier in the future... filling it from this place as opposed to what you did previously.
So you have had the swap for a year or so now, would you do it again? Is it worth it? I want to do it iv had my maxima for 5 years now if you have a discord id like to be able to talk to you about the swap bro
@@HorsepowerLabs so going 80mph on the hwy my trans bound up it sounded like a rocket going to the moon while slowing me down, all the lights came on and cvt. Throw it into neutral all lights came off I coast the car into a parking light the only light left on is the oil pressure light. Tow it to a shop they say u need a new oil switch they put it in cars all set but yours trans is on its way out. I go to pick it up, I start it it’s knocking like rod knock now
i do this on all my cars and it works perfectly for most applications but if the clunking is coming from the actual shock of the coil it’s time to replace.
Am being worried about the MAF sensor. Most intake am seeing doesn't have the maf sensor on them. They only have a tiny tube connecting to the engine valve cover. Can i use those without the MAF sensor
Please bro. I need your advice. I own a 7th gen Maxima, i just changed to s vibrant resonator and evil energy dual muffler, my car feels faster And i want a cold air intake. Which do i go for please

@@HorsepowerLabs had it around your mouth 😷 just so you can speak 🗣️ Yea, makes a lot of sense!!! 🤦🏾♂️ That information definitely helps 💯👍🏽 (Sarcastically)
